Fill your clean litter box with 3-4 inches of Fresh Step litter. Pour litter no more than a few inches from the box OR keep the carton close to the box when pouring litter. Litter quickly forms a clump around liquid waste. Remove clumps and solids daily, and dispose of in trash. Do not flush. Add more Fresh Step clumping cat litter to refresh your litter box. Maintain level of litter at 3-4 inches.
Toxoplasmosis Warning: We would like to remind our customers, especially pregnant women and immunosuppressed persons, that cat feces can sometimes transmit a disease called toxoplasmosis. Therefore, always remember to wash hands thoroughly after handling used cat litter. For further information, consult your doctor. Caution: Do not use this product as a traction aid, because product becomes slippery and slick when wet.

Often out of stock
As bad as this new formula is, I still like it better than other cat litters. However, it is impossible to find. Everywhere I turn it is out of stock.

Not a fan of this new formula
I am not a fan of this new change. The litter does not clump and makes a muddy mess. Not only it there a litter box mess but now there are little paw prints all over the floor. Please please change it back.

Formula change has ruined this litter
I’ve used Fresh Step Outstretch for years. I’ve sworn by it to probably hundreds of people at this point. Unfortunately, this formula change has somehow greatly decreased the quality from one of the best litters I’ve ever used to one of the worst. I was happy to pay the higher price for this brand because none of the others came close in odor control, but that’s no longer true. For the first time in years the litter box odor is drifting through the whole house after the cats use it…

Now looking for a litter replacement
Formula has changed. It has a fragrance to it now. It doesn't clump as well. Smaller granules are making it dustier. NOW a price increase on the OLD 42 lb package.... which is now a 38lb package. I have used Fresh Step for SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO long, but I am now looking for a replacement litter as quality, quantity & price have affected this product.

No longer a quality product -- scent and dust
Like so many others, I have found the litter changed drastically for the worse in the past several months at least. At first I thought I had a bad batch or I was smelling something else. But finally confirmed with people in real life and online that 1. it has a significant scent and 2. it is quite dusty. It went from virtually dust-free. I made a vet appt because my cat started sneezing so much. It was such a good product and it's now not good. When I contacted customer service they said nothing has changed. There is no way that's true. I just bought Tidy Cat unscented and will be gradually switching over.

What happened
The litter it says it’s 99.9% dust free and that’s wrong and people are right. It does not clump like it used to at all and I am seriously thinking of switching litter.

Safe non-scent & gentle texture
Unscented is the kind thing to provide for our Cat. When presented multiple litter boxes with different brands he chooses fresh step outstretch unscented. His owner think it’s the fine grain texture that is gentler on his paws. Please please re stock soon. Out of compassion, offer unscented again. The Frebreze version is harsh for his lungs.

KITTIES DO NOT LIKE FEBREEZE - BAD MOVE
It is okay, but not as good as FRESH STEP TRIPLE ACTION type. The Triple Action always came with NO FEBREEZE, but sadly, now it does. From the smell of the Febreeze, my cat became so sick it cost me thousands of dollars.... I almost lost her. This is the second time it happened to my cat and I wanted to make sure this is the reason. I would suggest that cats with sensitive systems, do NOT Fresh Step litter unless they go back to a couple of types without Febreeze. I'll try this one but not sure if it will stand up to the Triple Action. Putting Febreeze in all of these litters is ten steps downward. Cats, like humans, do not need to be breathing all sorts of chemicals. It will cost you big time and if I lost my cat, I would of been a screaming me-me.
