Description
The Giant Hawk has a fun appearance that creates a lot of excitement. These silly guys can be seen perching on top of rocks throughout a day, protecting its territory. If another fish comes too close, they will be chased away. They will quickly establish a territory and keep other fish at bay, which may be a problem if there are many bottom dwelling fish. The Giant Hawk is a hardy fish that can adapt well to aquarium settings, which makes them ideal for beginner aquarists. They are a possible predator of small ornamental crustaceans and small fish that can fit in their mouths. Most Hawkfish will readily adapt to a variety of foods, which should include a thawed carnivorous mix. They have an adult size of 24 inches and will need an aquarium at least 125 gallons. They are found in the Eastern Pacific Ocean inhabiting racky reefs.
