Gold Spotted Spinefoot Rabbitfish (Siganus punctatus), 4.25-6.25", Large removed from the wishlist
Description
Rabbitfish are a favorite because they can be housed with docile or aggressive tank mates since their venomous dorsal spines prevent others from bothering them too much. They are peaceful except when housed with other types of rabbitfish. Be sure to provide an environment that has plenty of space to swim and live rock that has algae so they can graze. The Gold Spotted Spinefoot Rabbitfish can be considered reef safe with caution because they have been known to nip at some corals, especially when hungry or the corals are in declining condition. To avoid nipping, be sure that they are well fed with a mix of meaty and vegetable-based foods. The Gold Spotted Spinefoot will grow to be a pretty large size of 16.5" and full grown adults of this rabbitfish will need around 150 gallons; but you can get away with smaller aquariums when they are juveniles. The Gold Spotted Spinefoot Rabbitfish are found in the Western Indian and Western Pacific inhabiting turbid inshore reefs usually in pairs.
