Mushy Sticky mess

Eric09

As previews review from Diana the can's content is somewhat dry and easy to take out in chunks and bake into treats BUT that all changed recently as last two flats (12 cans) were sticky mush and it sticks to everything. Apparently its flats marked 08 2027 T012 0825 183, possibly earlier dates than 08 2027 is the old formula. Chewy as usual is great and sent me the second flat but as I said earlier its the same. Hills has to read these posts and make necessary changes.

Thank you for reaching out to us. We apologize that you received a sticky and pasty canned product. While it is difficult to tell the exact cause for this change in texture, we can assure you that this variation has no impact on the nutritional value of the food. A freshly produced product can appear softer or stickier and will generally increase in firmness as it ages.

Can you please tell us why this prescription food has been out of stock for so long and when you plan to re-stock? elder dogs do not do well with changes in their food.

Ridiculous!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is outrageous that this prescribed product for animals with issues that cannot just change food w/ease has not been available for over a month! I cannot believe that Hills has let this go on for this long! I understand the pandemic causes some issues but this food is often difficult find! How can you make animals dependent on your prescribed food and allow this situation to go on and on! Absolutely unacceptable in my opinion!

Used to Love This

I used to love this food but I think they've changed the formula. It now comes out of the can mushy ... harder for the dog to eat and hard to get off the spoon. Can we have the old formula back, please?

As Noted by Others, Formula Changed. Makes Dog Sick

JR

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our dog has been on both the kibble and wet DD duck food for quite awhile. We buy cases of the wet at a time and noticed with the past few that the formula has changed. I actually reached out to make sure that it wasn't a bad batch but was told that it was correct. It is much stickier and has shown to make our dog sick. We weren't sure if was new medicine or the food that was the cause so we stopped both and started to slowly reintroduce one at a time. Almost immediately (less than 5-minutes after eating) she would vomit up the food. We have since stopped giving her the wet food and there has been no more issues. Unfortunately we're left with unused cans that we cannot use. Generally speaking the food has helped but with the most recent issues we'll have to figure out another solve.
