My dogs both love this food. My older dog Zero is on heart medication and will get the runs if not for eating well. He is extremely picky. But has always loved Hills.

I’ve tried so many foods for my 7 pound toy poodle. She has a sensitive stomach. This has been working amazing it’s only been 3 weeks and I can see a difference with the stool quality.

My dog wouldn’t eat it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wish that I could love this dog food and would love to leave a glowing review but try as I might I couldn’t get my dog to eat it! So strange. There must be something in the ingredients that she doesn’t like. Yes, I tried to slowly mix it in with her current food but as I increased the amount of the food she stopped eating all together.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It is hard to get my dog to eat hard dog food for some reason, but she did eat this without any issue. I have noticed that she has had better gut health since eating it as she would some times display signs of a sensitive stomach with many of the regular dog foods you may find.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My little 2 year old toy poodle loves this food. It has cute, tiny kibbles which is perfect for this little guy. My dog tolerates it pretty well. No diarrhea or constipation. Highly recommend.

Questions

1 - 7 of 7 Questions

Is this algo for senior chihuahuas? Mine is 8 years old. I tried to look for senior version in small breed too. I couldn’t find.

  1. I used this for my 18 & 13 yr olds for a while but switched to Hill's Adult 7+ small paws chicken, barley, & brown rice formula. The kibble pieces are about the same size.

My 5 year old chihuahua recently gained a couple pounds out of nowhere. For the past almost two years I have gave her 1/2c of purina pro plan for small dogs. Will this food help her loose weight? I will also be increasing her exercise. Thank you!❤️

  1. I had to decrease the amount of food I gave my dog in order to get him to lose weight. This food helps them not be so itchy.

can a puppy six and a half months eat this. If not what do you recommend? He has sensitive stomach and skin.

  1. I'm not sure if it's good for puppies. I think I'd ask my vet.

Does this kibble contain ingredients to help my maltipoo's little joints?

  1. My Maltese Mix ate this food for awhile but I have since switched her to a prescription diet. This food is high calorie and I only bought it because her stomach is very sensitive to food. It's a good food but I never saw any difference in her coat and there is nothing to indicate on the bag that this helps out joints. I do think they make a food for that and also Cosequin is a good joint supplement. Good Luck. :)

What is the calorie content per cup

  1. 397 calories

I'm looking 4 a dry food 4 a 10 year old Chihuahua who is showing signs of arthritis and possibly luxating patella on L rear knee. I have read that it would be good to try to get them to their proper weight before resorting to surgery-4 obese dogs.

  1. Thank you for your question. Due to your special pet's medical condition we would suggest that you speak to your veterinarian for a food recommendation. Hill's Pet Nutrition, Inc. offers a full line of therapeutic products which are formulated for the management of certain health issues that can develop in pets. The product that will work best for your pet depends upon his or her individual circumstances and is something that your veterinarian will have to help you to determine. Hill's Pet Nutrition

In the reviews it sounds as if the majority of the dogs are small. My dog weighs 120 pounds. Does anyone have experience with this product and big dogs?

  1. I have had large dogs and small dogs on science diet and I’ve always been pleased with their health. Follow the recommended for small dogs and large dogs on feeding portions with any dog food but science diet was able to get a smaller dog that I had in the right shape by following the amount of food and cutting out treats for larger dogs it did help out for their coat and their overall well-being
