I purchased this glass lid when I bough the 20 gallon long Imagitarium tank. I was well aware of the poor ratings. However, I was also well aware that there are images and warnings that this lid/top only fits the tank I bought. All that I was prepared for and have no problems with. However, I was not pleased to see the black plastic hinge that runs along the entire length of the lid. A clear plastic one would be better to allow more light through. It amount of light will probably vary depending on how far away your light is from the lid. On the plus side, this fit my 20 gallon long Imagitarium tank perfectly. It's the most economical/inexpensive lid I could find without the hassles of building one myself. If I had kept the tank, I would have kept this lid. I suspect I would have been fairly happy with it despite the black hinge. However, I returned the tank because of some personal preference differences with the tank (it's etched logo). Since I returned the tank, I returned the lid that goes with it. I purchased it online and picked it up at the store without issue. I returned it to the store without issue. My money was refunded promptly without issue. I would have kept this lid if I had kept the tank that it goes on.

Good quality materials, but alas.... they are serious when this is only for their own brand tanks. About half an inch too short for my current 20 gallon long tank. Hey Tank Guys....develop products that solve problems for people and have some give/take in them. If they included $.15 of plastic/rubber liner for the side edge, this would have worked fine.

As of 2-21-2026 they still have not resolved this issue. I bought one anyway even after reading these reviews because I thought the problem would have been solved by now, it does not fit the imagitariun 20 Long tank and is about a quarter inch too short on the length and the width.

These do do fit Aqueon 29 gallon aqariums. The length is about 1/2 inch too short.

This works fine with the brand it says it will. The black bar does block some light, but you really can't tell bc it's only a strip at the front couple inches of the tank. I don't even have any plants that close. I haven't quite found the trick to taking it off bc it's a little easy to drop in the water lol. Possibly could be proportioned better for front/back access.

I bought this because I was under the impression that the hinge connecting the 2 glass panels was clear. It looks like it’s clear based off the box photo, however, upon arrival, it was black. Meaning it blocks light entering the tank. The lid is good quality, but it’s a shame bc I bought this specifically to maximize the light in my tank

Just like everyone else to small. Why sell tanks and lids that don't fit or work with eachother what a waste of money and time

The lid did NOT fit the 20 long tank I had. At least 1/2-3/4” too short in length. Plus one piece of glass is much narrower than the other to the point that I can barely get my arm in the 29 G Imagitarium tank I bought instead of the 20 long I planned to use. I’ve now purchased a 20 long Aqueon brand lid since that should fit. It hasn’t yet arrived to check the fit. Frustrating that the Imagitarium lid still fits quite loose on the Imagitarium 29 G tank. I had to add some strips I had from a different brand lid that makes them fit more snugly.
