Kurgo G Train pack

My dog can get excited & jump out of this carrier. Even though he's tethered, I still don't want him to jump out. It's super comfortable for me but doesn't work for my dog. Too bad b/c it has a lot of good adjustment straps for comfort but not enough security for my dog.

No, I do not recommend this product.

I purchased the red backpack. The color is better in person than in the picture. My dog doesn’t like crates, just my sling, so this is kind of middle ground for us. Well, she didn’t like it, but we still used it a couple of times. Again, she doesn’t like it, but she’s slowly getting used to it. It is extremely well designed. My dog is a 13 lbs maltipoo. It is very light, but feels sturdy at the same time. I like this backpack more than my regular hiking backpack.

Yes, I recommend this product.

The color is a gorgeous and vibrant red. The soft mesh type air panels it uses for the bag are good quality. The bottom of bag has a very sturdy and durable bottom on the outside. Can be placed on a messy surface. I've actually placed it in some liquids and does not go into backpack. The 2 complaints I have are that the opening to put the animal in is too little for chunkier or thicker dogs and that the straps are made poorly and not supportive enough. I use it for 2 very different types of dog. One is a papillon mix who is about 12 lbs and the other is a pug that is about 23 lbs. The papillon slides in normally but the pug is so much thicker and it is a struggle to get him in. It is too tight. I know I am on the edge of the weight capacity cut off for him but I thought this was relevent regardless. The grey straps that have the buckle that connect to the red straps are too flimsy. They are not thick and sturdy enough. This is important because predominantly the weight goes on to them and they are small in comparison to the entire backpack. So do not use them if your dog is in the 20 lb range I feel.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Questions

1 - 3 of 3 Questions

Will a Yorkie be able to kay down on this bag while traveling? We are looking for a replacement bag and would love a backpack style bag, but it won't work if the little one can't lay down in the bag during transport.

  1. Thanks for asking! It's possible your Yorkie may be able to lay down in this bag during travel; this would depend on their size and the spaces they are comfortable laying down in. The base of this bag is around 12.5" wide, and around 9" deep.

Please provide more details about the product. The dimensions of the bag are not helpful. Owners need the length/girth/weight of pup this product is suited for. Even example breeds would help. I love the color but can’t risk $150 I’m case it’s too small:(

  1. We'll be happy to provide information for you! As mentioned in the description, this backpack is a good fit for dogs up to 25 lbs. Though we do not have specific weight/length requirements, most dogs under 25 lbs. will fit well in this pack. We would recommend reaching out to Petco to check that their return policy will give you plenty of time to make sure this bag is comfortable for your dog. If you have any further questions, please contact our Customer Care team! Our number is 1-877-847-3868, and our hours are Monday through Friday 8 A.M.- 7 P.M. EST.

Where do the 2 sticks go they should b able to b used to make front more sturdy when puppy head sticking out

  1. Thank you for your question, Chris! Please refer to the "Optional - Stabilizing Rods" section of your Fitting and Use Instructions. This will show you where the upper and lower loops are in the pack so you can place the stabilizing rods inside to help the bag maintain its shape.
