Disappointed

Please go back to the old recipe for the food. My cats favorites were surf and turf and beef late. She will not eat the new recipe.

Surfin' & Turfin' is not as good as Surf & Turf!

I've been feeding Merrick to my cat Luna for almost a year, and her favorite flavor is Surf & Turf. However, the formula recently changed (now called Surfin' & Turfin') and now she won't even eat it! I know the formula change included removing carrageenan from the recipe (which I am all for), but the look and feel of the food is totally different! I don't blame her for not wanting to eat it anymore! I don't what other changes took place, but this food is not the same, and my cat used to eat it with gusto without looking up from her bowl. I am so disappointed and have to go through the entire line of Purrfect Bistro again and see if there are any flavors remaining that she will eat.

My Luna loves it!

I found Merrick after I adopted my cat and was trying to see what brand she would actually eat. She LOVES Surf & Turf. Luna suffers from FOMO (fear of missing out) and is distracted by everything esp. when eating (which I guess is normal for a cat), But with Surf & Turf, she doesn't even look up from her bowl when eating! #winning The new formula though, Surfin' & Turfin', not so much (there is a separate review on that new flavor).

Great food, but not for kidney disease cats

Jojobaggins

My cat is very finicky with wet food, but he LOVES this flavor from Merrick. We have to give him supplements for urinary disease and constipation and he takes them no problem mixed with this food. If your cat is healthy, I think this is a good food to feed them. Unfortunately, our guy is also now early stages for kidney disease and we have to switch him to a low phosphorus food. Surf n turf has something like 6-7 times the phosphorus that's recommended for kidney disease cats, so we can no longer feed him this.

My cats love all the Merrick pates! The Surf & Turf is a favorite. Love all the variety and flavours that are offered. No other company offers this much variety!

So far so good...

Spunky

Spunky is 27yrs young and has certain dietary requirements. Did not like the food from the vet. Tried the Surf & Turf Pate upon recommendation as equivalent to wet food she was given. Not only does she now clean her plate, she asks for more. Only bowel movement change is that she has more normal movements compared to little movements on the other food. Will continue giving her this brand.

Cats Not Eating New ...Bring Back Classic Pate

kashmere

My cats love the Purrfect Bistro, Surf & Turf Pate Grain Free Classic. When I saw the new label which doesn't have Classic on it, I thought that was all it was ...a change in the label. I was wrong! Upon opening, I could even smell the difference, the texture was seemed to be off ...no juice. The true test, when given to my 2 girls...both hated it and one even tried to cover it up as if it was poo! .That said it all! That is a statement on where she think it belongs. I had a can that had grain free classic on it...opened it and both hogged it down. What happened to the Classic? That is the only food and flavor that my cats ate and now don't even see it in the stores. First it was out of stock for weeks, and now even though the label says same ingredients, my cats won't touch it. Something that was in the classic has to be missing from the newest batches. Huge disappointment!

I bought new case of this and the texture is different. gives cats loose stools. The cat that wouldn't eat it before now likes it but loose stools. Cat that ate it before now runny stools. What has changed? I might have to change foods after all this time.
