20+ Year Pro - love it for my dogs and dog clients

Coyotater

I started purchasing yeeeears ago to help my Pomeranian, a mill rescue. I honestly had little hope this product would work, my dog had severe anxiety and phobias, it took me three years just to get him to remotely functional - I felt it likely that only something pharmaceutical would help. While I am not against that, when it isn't an emergency quality of life or safety issue, I like to address nutrition and overall health in addition to behavior and environment first, and to try naturally derived, non-prescription things first. I was so wrong, and wished I had tried Quiet Moments from the start! NaturVet Calming Moments helped my Pom achieve a pretty normal, very happy life. (He never got over some things, like being more reserved with strange humans than is normal, or being anxious about sudden loud noises, like dropped objects. That's nothing, this dog tried to live entirely under my clawfoot bath tub at first and would urinate if given my direct attention - not kidding about the severity of this case!) When he became an advanced senior, he began to struggle with canine cognitive decline. NatruVet's calming 24/7 support chews helped him then. We were able to spend nearly 16 years together happily, and I don't think that would've been possible without the support of these calming products to go with our behavior work and management. Since they worked wonders for my own dog, I began using them with my grooming clients - I've been grooming 20+ years and specialize in low-stress, one-on-one grooming for dogs with issues ranging from grooming trauma to physical disabilities. You can't learn when your system is in fight or flight mode, meaning that I couldn't teach many of them that grooming did NOT mean force, fear, and "get the job done ASAP" regardless of the living being involved. Quiet Moments (with guardian consent) was a game-changer in allowing dogs to reach and maintain a level of calm that let them build positive experiences and greater comfort and toleration of grooming. Again, this was used with science-backed behavior work, and was an invaluable tool. (My Pomeranian also helped, he spent all of our years together, ironically, showing grooming visitors that everything was alright! The calm, happy presence of another dog demonstrating safety and security in the environment really helps!) I have also been a professional pet sitter for decades, and these calming products are amazing at easing noise phobias and helping those who struggled with the "first night without my parents" transition. Now, I have a (recently) 2-year-old Australian Cattle Dog and Australian Shepherd cross. Called Texas Heelers, they're a purpose-bred cross of cattle working dog popular in my area. So popular that it's now harming them, people can't handle this mixture easily, and miniaturizing them hasn't helped. (Mine is a miniature at 23lbs.) This combo wasn't ideal for me either - now 42 and with a chronic illness - but when no one wanted the coyote-looking "plain" (read as "non-merle or tri") puppy left out of 15...well. I ended up with a 6-week-old baby dingo creature. He's in an experienced and educated home, so there's a lot of enrichment, herding games, and behavior work, but sometimes, he needs some Quiet Moments to be able to cope with typical "genetic anxiety" and wariness common to herding breeds. Or just to be able to focus or settle down! When his genes kicked in at 8 months, typical story, my well-socialized and impressively advanced puppy became a fearful, weird little heeler lol I laugh, but it's hard to deal with! Quiet Moments REALLY helped us continue to progress through this period. I would, and do, recommend NaturVet Quiet Moments of all varieties! I also strongly advise that you are not relying solely on these products - they are support to be used with legitimate, science-backed behavior. Your dog still needs their biological and genetic (breed) needs met through enrichment and appropriate activities. Your dog still needs you to undertake management during that time. It's a miracle when used properly, it does not work miracles on it's own. Pet guardianship is still work!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Seems OK, didn't help much. Puppy still barks like crazy for attention. Was hoping this would calm him enough to train some calming crate behavior and separation anxiety when I'm working from home. Used on 5 month old pointer mix, not strong enough and effective.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Phenemonal -- actually works!

I have been using these on occasion for my 12lb terrier mix for over a year. He is already VERY chill; but, if we are flying or I am slightly stressed before our trip, and trying to get a lot done, I give him one. He doesn't act differently; just more calm and slightly sleepy. It reduces his anxiety greatly; especially since he feeds off of mine. Recently, I started fostering rescue dogs. This works SO WELL for dogs on their first couple nights in a new home, especially if they aren't crate-trained or need to be left alone to decompress. I always start with half of the recommended dose to see how they do.

Park trip a success

Conway LSF

Tried this today on my 80lbs German shepherd/bluetick coonhound. He just turned 2 and has been with us for a year. I have 5 kids which he always has to watch and has severe anxiety when they aren’t within his reach. I gave him 4 chews and we headed to the park. This is the FIRST time we have had a trip to the park with NO barking. He did whine a few times but would stay by my side and watch the kids. I purposely had the kids go to the other side of the park (training purposes) and he did fantastic. Car rides are also a mess but he did a lot better. He has to stand in between the 2 front seats (15 passenger) to look out the front window. There was no whining or barking or pacing. This was a few hours ago and he hasn’t taken a nap so it doesn’t make him drowsy.

Yes, I recommend this product.

200 mg Hemp seed oil & powder

It worked, American Staffordshire Terrier mix, 8 yrs old. She has anxiety issues, storms, fireworks, always wants be out on a walk outside, but not in the backyard, just for bathroom. Recently, she seemed to have cabin fever, panting, whinning, take her outside, she was fine. Go back in, she would be restless, on patrol. I gave her 2 chews, 35 minutes later she was quiet, laying on her bean bag and later knocked out asleep. She slept that afternoon to the next morning around 4 am. This had the highest amount of hemp seed oil and powder between the other brands. I gave her 1 cheese the next morning around 8 am, she started to patrol and later she was quiet on her bean bag relaxing, mellow. Not her usual patrol madness self and now about to give her the 2nd chew to see if she starts be relaxing back on her bean bag. Highly recommend it, I was at my whits end to give her something safe, tranquilizer was on my mind. But this works for her!

Don't buy. Such a scam. False hope and "hemp"

I wanted this product to work and be beneficial for assisting our new furry member into acclimating to our environment and training. She and our current dog both get along wonderfully but she came from a "no-training" household and at 2, and roughly 60 pounds of whippet and bully, she is a lot of energy. We gave both pups a treat just to see the reaction, nothing. Chalked it up to needing to wait. We left to grab some items out of the car and bring up. 1 min and 30 seconds is all it took for our new friend to figure out how to maneuver her snake body onto a counter top and whip the treats down with her tail. They both ate all of the treats. Nothing bad happened, not even gas. These dogs were unfazed for the entire day. It was as if they had just eaten 25 dollars worth of treats in the blink of an eye and no "calming" effects...or otherwise had occurred the entire day. Needless to say, pretty sure these treats are full of misplaced hope and shredded dollar bills. Do not buy. Go with Charlotte's Webb products. Unfortunately you have to now get those on their website. But they work wonders. I really have no clue who claims to say these work but I'd question if these people were paid for their opinions to the company who makes the products. I left this long review only because I don't want others being scammed out of 20 bucks like I was, with false hopes that this will help in any way. Petco can do better than these hemp products. They have before with Charlotte's Webb. These "hemp" treats are just a total scam to desperate pet owners trying to make their furry friend's life easier.

Questions

1 - 10 of 24 Questions

I heard real CBD is better is this CBD or just hemp?

  1. Just hemp

I have a 5 year old Boston Terrier male with OCD. He will not leave a ball or toy alone and wants us to throw it all the time. He will also chase his tail (like he has one to begin with). He also pants in the car but love to go bye bye.

  1. We have a 55 pound fur ball that loves to go in the car but gets overly excited. We give him 2 or 3 of these tablets an hour or before the trips if the trip is over an hour long.

My cocker spaniel is 1 year and 6 months and he has been getting seizures. It stops and continues note exceeding 2 minutes I keep hearing CBD is good can anyone please help ? Or suggest anything

My dog has very bad separation anxiety. He is now 9 and I leave him in a huge play area cage. The moment I leave he barks for hours. Will this help?

    1. No

Is the recommended dosage to be used as needed or is it within a 24 hour period?

I have an 8 week old puppy who is having some problems with separation anxiety from his mother and siblings as well as myself while I’m at work. Is this safe to use on the young puppy?

      1. This unfortunately didn't work for my dog. Maybe they will for someone else.

Will this work for firework anxiety. My Basset Hound gets so anxious during fireworks season I afraid she’s goin to have a dog heart attack

My 10 year old boxer had an ear hematoma and had a cannula put in his ear. He is so traumatized now and cries and seems so disoriented. Will this product be of help for him? He's not hyper. Just traumatized.

        1. I doubt it.If my husband is gone my dog goes nuts, barking at a every leaf and every sound and refusing to eat. This didn't stop any of that, but it might have helped her sleep better so she didn't bark all night. Have you tried a thundershirt? Or a pheromone calming collar? Or just hugs. My dog had a terrible hematoma too and was totally off for several days rubbing like crazy, ramming her ear/head into walls- but she didn't have the surgery, just steroids. once the hematoma went down and she healed(about four days after starting high dose steroids) it was so much better. Now since you want your dog to calm down and heal, these might help make him sleepy and calm- but I don't think it made her feel calmer, she just couldn't act on her worries.

Would this be helpful for my 5 month old lab mix who is currently recovering from spay surgery? She has way too much energy (which is a good sign) but I'm afraid she will do something to hurt the surgical site even with the E-Collar on.

        1. This product is very helpful to dogs. It helps during storms, traveling, unfamiliar exposure to groups of people, stress. anxiety, fireworks and very good for over active hyper animals. No danger to your pet. I have been using off and on for 4 years and wouldn't be without it.

My senior rescue dog is stable on CHF medications. She has always been nervous at the vet and groomers. She needs a cut (I will shampoo her at home). Is this safe for her? Thank you.

        1. Since your dog is on CHF medications, I would check with your veterinarian.  My dogs are NOT on any prescribed meds, so I use Quiet Moments Melatonin supplements prior to grooming, veterinary exams, trips to groomers, thunderstorms, and whenwe need to crate them for more than 30 min.  It really does help ALOT!
