Different collars don’t work together
I have an electrical fence with one dog, wearing the stubborn dog collar. I bought this small collar to my small dog. However, the range that the small collar activates is only very close to the borderline while the stubborn dog receiver works from very far away. So I cannot have both dogs receive a correction at the same distance from the fence.

Not reliable
I just purchased extra collar PIG 19 for my 10# Shih Tzu. It can't be trusted to work, my little guy walked right out of our yard! Battery checked out good and after turning off and on, it seems to be working again. The "instructions" that came with it is nothing more than a bunch of disclaimers, no use whats so ever.

Don’t work
We had one of these for our last dog and it worked fine. That dog died and after a couple years decided to get a new one. I completely redid the fence and ordered another collar. Doesn’t work on this dog at all. I’ve tried every setting.

One works One doesn't
We bought 2 of the little dog collars in between October and December of 2020. It is now July 2021. One of the collars seems to be working fine, the other is always getting water and/or condensation in the batter component. We have opened it up and let it air dry several times and now it just doesn't seem to work at all. I will agree with others that I've used a PetSafe in-ground collar for over 11 years and these new collars are not the quality that they were before. As a matter of fact, my 11 year old Beagle still has her original one and it works great. Her battery also seems to last longer. The new collars go through batteries waaay to quickly. I would still recommend this product to friends b/c I do feel that you can teach your dog to learn the boundaries with this. Our littles learned the boundary and even when the collar on the one isn't working, they will stay in the yard. At least until we can get new batteries. We switch collars on the two littles so they don't know when they will get buzzed with the working collar.

How much does the collar with battery weigh? My dogs are 6.5 and 7 lbs. and I am concerned these may be too heavy for them.

What is the difference in the cat receiver collar and the little dog collar? The company that installed our Petsafe in ground fence uses them interchangeably and we want to make sure that is ok before we purchase the cat collar for our small dog.
- This is a great question! Bot h receiver collars function the same way. The main difference is within the colalr strap. The PetSafe In-Ground Fence™ Receiver Collar for Cats has a stretch section on collar for added safety. This is not section is included on the Little Dog In-Ground Fence™ Receiver Collar.
