2 purchased, both do not work well...and even are broken

Works great but I liked the older model better. The spray was quieter.

Went to buy a replacement can for the old version which still worked after 12 years. I discovered that they’ve done away with the old model and replacement cans so I was forced to buy the new model for $75. The new version literally does not work. The only time it goes off is if I put my hand directly on the sensor. The old version could detect movement 3 ft away. It worked perfectly and kept my cat off of furniture. My new kitten now gets into everything because this Ssscat just sits there like an expensive paperweight. Very disappointed and angry about the waste of money.

I bought this to replace my older Ssscat which stopped working. I had high hopes as this was the new and improved version. First thing I noticed out of the box, the detection "eye" is much, much, much smaller. Also, you could not change the direction of the spray (up, down, left, right). So I set it up with high hopes. Its working is like a Glade mister and therefore I feel there is a lag time on the spray. I have a door dasher that I am trying to reform so the spray needs to be immediate. If using for counters or tables, it will probably work just fine. Also, the detection "eye" does not seem to be as sensitive. I have walked in front of it and it just sits there. I have had cats pass within a foot of it, and it just sits there. Also seems that the detection, when it does, is less than 3 feet. Then there are times when it does what it is supposed to do. The old one was MUCH more sensitive and worked MUCH better. I would recommend based on why it was needed.

Years ago, I purchased a product under the same name (different looking can, etc...same name) and I used it to keep my cat off of the kitchen counter. At that time, the spray came out with force, had a bit of cloudiness to it so it was visible, and had a very startling sound. It was perfect! This version detects motion and triggers a spray just fine, but the spray is very weak and the sound it makes isn't in anyway alarming or startling. In fact, our cat thinks it's hilarious to trigger it for fun. She rolls around in front of it for a good time. More like a cat attractant.

This is the second similar device I've purchased for my cats, and unfortunately, this one was very disappointing. I bought it specifically to protect our Christmas tree, but its short range and narrow field of view allowed my cat to avoid triggering it while still playing with the tree. There is supposed to be a long-range mode, but I can't seem to get it to work beyond half a foot.

This new version is AWFUL. Just about never detected my cats, only detected humans. Both the long distance mode and short distance mode stopped working entirely after 1 week. When I tried to restart it, it started spraying continuously, wasting the air can. So awful and probably dangerous.

Order was unceremoniously cancelled without a reason given. It would have been nice to receive this product. I had to order from somewhere else instead.
