Third house I’ve put this door in!
I really like this dog door if your dog might also wear a battery collar. I couldn’t find it mu other go to places but PetCo had it and delivered it really quickly!!! Well done. If your dog doesn’t need a fence collar etc I recommend the one that goes up and down

happy with purchase
This door is great. We have 2 Old English Sheepdogs that are 80 lbs & 51 lbs. The dimensions of the door are a perfect size for them. The door is sturdy & strong and so far it has kept the wind & cold weather out. The directions it came with were a great help and easy to understand

LOVE this dog door.
Absolutely love this dog door. All of my dogs use it and no problem. Only complaint is the price but you get what you pay for. Excellent for safety and security and doesn't leak too much air so efficient in that respect. Highly recommend. I have small dogs (35lbs) and big (85lbs) and they all go thru the door with ease. The door is very gentle when it closes and soft vs the heavy plastic flaps that halfway close or scare my dogs. I will only use these doors from now on. Thank you and happy shopping

Good and Bad
We rescued a large Rotweiler pup who chews. He taught one of our other dogs to "eat" the plastic flap on a regular door. They no longer sell the flap (wonder why) separately. So after three doors at $139 each, I bought the XK Plexidor. The template that came with it was WRONG. This door is larger than the one I had so just drilled some more holes. But in the wrong place. Finally figured it out and got the door in. Two dogs had no problem. Two small dogs and the cat will not use it as they think it is going to trap them once they start through.And the outside strips are supposed to cover the edges of the door to hold it secure. They are about 1/16"" off - no mater what way you turn them.

What size woul you recommend for a 50lbs Lab?
- The size Large PlexiDor would be the best choice for a 50 lb Labrador. Important install tip: Measure your dog and see how tall he is at the shoulder. You want to be sure you install the dog door high enough off the ground so that when he walks through his dog door he won't hit the top of his back on the dog door. He will put his head down to push through the dog door; so you don't have to measure to the top of his head. Can these be placed in a regular door?
- Yes, the PlexiDor Door Mount pet door is meant to be installed on a regular house door. The PlexiDor Wall Unit pet door is for install on a wall. Please call Customer Service with any other questions at 800-749-9609 Opt. 3.

I assume "item dimensions" refers to the exterior dimension of the door? What are the dimensions of the opening for a small- and for a medium door?
- Yes, the item dimensions listed as "item dimensions" are for the overall dimensions of the dog door frame. The dog passage opening for the size Medium Plexidor is 9" wide by 12" high. The dog passage opening for the Small PlexiDor is 6.5" wide by 7.25" high.

I am interested in buying a good quality doggy door. I have 3 dogs. Australian shepherd, golden doodle and a Yorkie ( all 3 are used to the cheaper doggy doors) . you think the xl sliding door works also for the Yorkie? Or what would you recommend?
- We have customers who have a Rottweiler and a Yorkie using the PlexiDor XL and many kennels that breed dogs for blind use the XL for the mom and pups to use. So I believe the XL would work. The only caution I would state is that sometimes the smaller breed dogs are very skittish and may require longer to train. I hope this is helpful.
