I have a 20lbs cat and I feed him 2 in the morning, 1 at lunch, and 3 at night and he seems to be happy. Am I under feeding him? the instructions dont make sense. it says I will have to feed him 12 portions 2 times a day...$20 per day on cat food?
- Is he a Maine Coon? 20 pounds is pretty large. If your cat is healthy and not over weight, I’d say you should keep doing what you’re doing. I’ve had cats my whole life and have never followed feeding instructions unless from a vet or if my cat was ill. They pretty much tell you when they’re hungry. (Often at 5 a.m.) if you have concerns, you might check with your vet.

So, just to clarify, for my 15lb cat, I need to serve her 4.5 pouches (each 2.6 ounces) of the Sheba perfect portions twice per day?!? How is that correct? Please advise
- Sheba typically has 2 portions that are linked when you buy them. It depends on if your cat is an indoor or outdoor cat, but typically they get 1 portion 2x a day if outside and active, but for our indoor cats (ages 17 and 2) they actually split one portion in the morning and usually don't eat it all. If you follow the guidelines on the package you are usually feeding them too much. If they are overweight, cut them down (not too much as losing wt in cats to fast can cause serious other issues), if too skinny give them more or make sure they are up to date on Vet visits, fleas, worming etc.

To follow up on the last question asked... I read the instructions the same way. How is this perfect portions if I have to feed my cat 9 of the portions per day? That seems like an excessive (not to mention expensive) amount of food for one cat?
- I use this with dry food. So I have 2 cats I feed them both twice daily.. I poor each cat some dry food and add this ontop.

I don't understand the feeding directions: Feed adult cats 3 servings per 5 pounds of body weight twice daily. That means my 15-pound cat should be fed 9 servings twice a day. Really??
- Your cat would need 9 servings total in one day. We recommend breaking up the total food over 2 separate feedings in a day. So sorry for the confusion.
