Puppies begin to eat solid foods around 4-6 weeks. After weaning, use the feeding guidelines noted on the packaging as an initial recommendation and adjust food amount as needed to reach desired weight. Your puppy's needs may vary with age, size, breed and activity level. Always provide access to clean, fresh water. If transitioning from another food, add a little Clusters to your puppy's current food each day over the course of 5-7 days while decreasing the amount of current food. Active Puppies: Feed as much or as often as needed to maintain ideal body weight. Food may need to increase up to 1 1/2 times the amount listed above. Gestation/lactation: Feed enough to maintain ideal body weight, food may need to increase 2 to 4 times the amount listed.

I switched to this brand because it has much more fiber than the other human grade brand I was using.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It is only day 2 of transition to this from my old food, but its already a huge difference. Where with the old dry kibble she would need heavily direction (hand feeding) to get her to eat, to this where before the bag was even opened she was attacking it to get to the food. We got a number of premium human grade and freeze dried raw food to find one that she would want to eat and a couple would get her to eat some or half without our intervention. This one though like I said she couldn't get a taste fast enough, the first bowl we put a ¼ of a cup of this at the bottom of her bowl and ¾ cup of the old on top and she devoured the entire bowl in seconds and it has not stopped as soon as she sees us going near the food area she goes crazy knowing she is going to get some of this. The only downside is now she is 10x as active and won't stop zooming. Lol I wish I could give more stars.

Our 2 1/2-month-old Mini Aussie puppy loves this food! We got her the 8th of Feb. and started moving her gradually onto this Whole Grain Chicken and Oat for Puppies from the food the breeder was feeding to her. I love how clean and healthy this food is for her!

Questions

1 - 3 of 3 Questions

How many cups in a four pound bag would be nice if you made another size in between the four pound and the larger one?Since it's so expensive

  1. 4# bag should be about 16 cups.

how long can it sit out without causing problems

  1. I would feed this food and any other within the company’s freshness expiration date. NEVER feed old rancid food to any animal. As with humans, you can cause GI problems. With dogs and horses rancid food can be a contributor to bloat/colic.  If you don’t know the expiry date, pick up your phone and call the company with the lot number of the food.  If you suspect the food is bad, use common sense and throw it out just like you would for yourself.

How many cups come in 20 lb bag?

  1. Hello! Thanks for reaching out. There are about 84 cups in each 20-pound bag of clusters. I hope this helps!
