Pros: Product is a pretty color and fit my dog well (size MED/LG for a F Tervuren). I like the wide belly band that fastens with Velcro (very secure) and that there are three rows of snaps at the back to adjust the fit. Cons: Fabric is very thin and the part that goes between the hind legs is quite narrow, allowing the dog to push it aside easily. The only reason my dog didn't bother her stitches is because she was sedated. Had she been more determined, the suit alone wouldn't have stopped her. Because the plastic snaps are very strong and the fabric is very thin, the snaps pull out of the fabric very easily. I recognized this right away and was very careful when unsnapping it, but even so one of the snaps pulled out withing the first 24 hours. I exchanged it for a new one and the same thing happened again. This suit is useful for keeping the incision clean but still needs to be used with a cone!

As others have mentioned the quality definitely leaves something to be desired. It isn't well made and cannot be machine washed, which is concerning considering any animal wearing this likely has incisions (sanitization and stains). The biggest downfall to me though is the sizing. My 55 lb pitbull mix pup ended up needing the L/XL because the M/L wasn't long enough on her. If you have an actual L/XL dog, don't even bother. As someone else's review said, it worked in a pinch: My pup had emergency surgery and I didn't have time to have something shipped. The only way I'd recommend this is if you were in my exact situation and it was either this suit or nothing.

Do not buy if you have a dog that likes to chew or puppy! My dog ate the snaps off of the back. Very dangerous.

I bought this particular recovery suit because the other brand was not in stock at the store. The fabric is thin, and it isn't particularly well made. I don't think it would be able to be used in the future if I needed it. Sizing is also difficult. I have a hound dog, so he has a long body, but is narrow. I had to really stretch out the suit to fit him lengthwise, but the Velcro doesn't overlap where I need it to in order to be tight enough to really fit snuggly around his abdomen. Works enough in a pinch, but would recommend just getting the other higher end brands is you can wait.

I bought this for my FEMALE dog after her spay surgery (I don't believe this product would work for a male dog). It was exactly what my dog needed as she destroyed her cone within a day, due to her large size. I do agree with other reviews where this product is not the most well made. It started pilling immediately and one of the snaps fell off. But it did get the job done and after a two weeks of my dog wearing it daily, it can be used again. I do want to warn that my dog developed a deep cough after she started wearing it. Luckily her vet quickly figure out it was due to her coming in contact with formaldehyde and it was an easy fix. Obviously there's no way to prove it came from this product, but I since I was in a pinch (after she destroyed her cone) I put the suit on her without washing it first. So, my suggestion would be to wash it before use and possibly leave it out in the sun to disinfect, just in case. It is packaged in a thick plastic bag, so if there was contact with formaldehyde, it may have come from there.

Poor quality plastic snaps chewed up by our fog on day 2

I bought this 2 days ago. It’s the correct size and yes, it’s put on properly. The threads are coming loose already and there is a hole next to the velcro on the side. The neck stretches out quickly and my little Houdini dog was about to get out of it. It’s a one-time or less use item. (Disposable) I’d return it but I only need it for a few more days while my dog recovers from her spay surgery.

Bought this because they didn’t have any for my cat so this was what I could do in a pinch! The velcro is crazy strong and the buttons are firm, making it almost impossible for my Houdini to get out of. I will say the quality is a little less great as it started to wear quickly which is why I only gave a 4 star. My cat is 10 lbs so the s/m was a little big but the Velcro helped to pull tight and fit nicely. Overall, good suit! Would only use temporary for cats but did its job while the right one came in!
