I already had a feeling

I already had a feeling that I knew the breed of dog I had, but she came from the shelter so I just wanted to be sure. The results were what I thought and process was super simple. 10/10 recommend

It was good finding out what genes were in our Husky Mix. We had assumed he was a husky, but knew he had other breeds due to the spots on his tongue and the sheparad looking saddle on his back.

We knew our pup was at least half Jack Russel but were curious about what other breeds she might be. The results said she is a beagle and American Eskimo with a variety of other breeds, but no Jack Russel and none that she even remotely looks like. Pretty disappointing.

This is the fourth wisdom panel we’ve done in the past 13 years. They sure have come a long way! I am thrilled with the amount of information and insight that Wisdom Panel gives into our dogs. We have found them to be accurate and results are always returned faster than expected.

He is a German Shepherd mix 21%. The next largest percentage breed was Chow Chow. I think our dog is more Shiba Inu than Chow but they share ancestry.

Not My Dog

We adopted a rescued dog and wanted to know how best to feed and train him plus what to expect personality wise. What we received was OBVIOUSLY not our dog. Please tell me you had issues with the sample or whatever the issue was, but don’t issue nonsensical results. See pic. NOT 50% chihuahua!

Loved some, sad there was not more information

I loved finding out the mixes of my very very mixed little guy. I was sad to find out nothing much about my now senior purebred. You'd think she was the healthiest dog around but in reality she has been plagued with health issues all of her life.

Questions

1 - 6 of 6 Questions

Will this DNA test reveal the breed as well as the age of the dog?

  1. Unfortunately it will not determine the age.  It gives you a breakdown of the breed by percentage, any relatives your dog may have who’s also registered with this DNA test company, possible health concerns and genetic traits.

How do I get the results for my test? Order# 120663302595479

What is the earliest age we can use this test? I have abandoned foster puppies.

    1. I did the DNA on my last shelter pup at 8 weeks then at 13 months and it was pretty much the same. You just have to get a good thorough sample. That is my experience with the last test and I hope that helps.

Why are there not more than one review of your product?

    1. I see 7 reviews so check again but also people are not obligated to review the product so it depends on who buys and uses it if they want to leave a review.

can the DNA test tell the dog's age?

    1. No, DNA doesn’t change with age, to find out your pups age your best bet is to have a vet (or someone else who’s very experienced in animal health care) look at their teeth, it won’t give you the exact age, but it’ll atleast give you a rough estimate. For example they can look at the teeth & say the dog is a year old, the dog may be a little over a year old but it’s a rough estimate, another example would be with puppy’s you can say they’re about 2-3months, it’s not an exact, but in my opinion a rough estimate is better than nothing!

Can I use this dna test to get registration for my dog

    1. No. You must have a pedigree and certification from an AKC (or other) certified breeder to register your dog. Even if the results show your dog is purebred, it's not what the agencies require.
