Hi there and thank you for using Boop by Petco to address your concern. Mutton is a breed that we typically see the problem of tear staining. It is not harmful but cosmetically, it can be unsightly. There are supplements that have been known to reduce the brown stains. I would recommend a supplement such as Angel Eyes or Ocubright, which can reduce the brown staining that you are seeing after several months of being on the supplement. Either one of these can be found online or at your local pet store. I hope that this helps! Hi there and thank you for using Boop by Petco to address your concerns. The eyes look to be cataracts, which there is not much you can do for cataracts (medically). Surgically, you can have these removed but this procedure typically costs $3000 per eye in my experience. It is possible that the cataracts could be due to diabetes but without blood work, it is difficult to say. Even if this was due to diabetes, there is no reversing the condition once developed. The skin could be a skin infection or allergy. I would recommend using the following products, which can all be found online to see if this helps the skin. I hope this helps! The brand I recommend is called Genteal Eye Lubricating Gel. I'm not sure if Jax has had confirmation of dry eye with a Schirmer Tear Test but there are other medications needed to treat this condition. If you are only suspecting dry eye, make an appointment with his vet to have this test to confirm if he needs the medications or not. There are other conditions that can look the same.
