Hello. Honestly, I recommend either Nordic Naturals or Bayer Free Form Snip Tips. Both of these are highly recommended by veterinary dermatologists, too. You will need to call other veterinarians to see who carries Cytopoint. It is an excellent product & most of my clients love the convenience of only needing a simple injection once ever 6-8 weeks to control their pet's allergies. Thanks for using Boop by Petco.

Atopica works most effectively when given on an empty stomach. That said, I have recommended to some patients to initially give it with food until some of the GI upset has resolved, knowing that the medication will not be as effective. Once the GI signs resolve, we then give it on an empty stomach. You should speak with your vet before trying this approach. I hope Lily is able to tolerate her Atopica and feel better soon!

Both of them are products containing omega 3 fatty acids and vitamins and fish oil basically. Any veterinary product available in Portugal with similar content (ask your local veterinarian as unfortunately I do not know about veterinary market products in Portugal) will be fine. These are not specific medicines but only supplements that can help with allergic skin but not treat the signs (itch usually). Drugs that will help with the signs would be basically steroids, Apoquel, and immunosuppressive medications. Please do not hesitate to contact us again on the forum or by requesting a consultation (where you can post pictures ) if you have any more questions or to discuss it any further.

I'm so sorry to hear that Lexi has such severe itching. I am attaching a handout below that discusses the available treatments for itching for dogs and cats. https://veterinarypartner.vin.com/default.aspx?pid=19239&id=4951477 Unfortunately, there is no product like Apoquel for cats. However, if your vet has not tried it yet, you could consider Atopica (cyclosporine). Also, if Lexi has not been examined by a dermatologist, I would strongly recommend that. You can find a dermatologist near you here. https://www.acvd.org/tools/locator/locator.asp?ids=16_Find_Dermatologist Good luck! I hope that was helpful. Thanks for using Boop by Petco.
