My cat was bit by another cat on his tail and it got infected. He won't take his oral antibiotic. Can I put an antibiotic on his wound/skin called Baneocin?
Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! I'd call your Vet tomorrow and ask if they have the injectable antibiotic called convenia. I think that will solve you having to medicate Cinco. But yes the ointment baneocin should be ok, just prevent him from licking it. It may not be enough, especially if your Vet felt he needed to be on oral antibiotics. Good luck!

Yes, your suspicion is right, Antibiotics are likely to be needed. Unfortunately without prescription it is going to be difficult to obtain any antibiotic and we are not allowed to make any prescription through this platform. Cat with triaditis taking prednisone, denamarin, recommended hypoallergenic diet. Will not take pills, pill pockets, will not eat pills crushed in food, will not eat new food. Please advise how I can give medicine. Extremely extremely frustrated.
I'm so sorry that you are dealing with this with Buster. I know how frustrating that can be. I have a few ideas. The Prednisone can be compounded into a liquid that tastes good (not the cherry flavored liquid that is available at a regular pharmacy), but you will still likely need to give it in his mouth if he is not eating his new food well. So, I would ask your vet to teach you how to wrap Buster in a towel to safely administer medications. You may also ask them how to give his pills that way. There are some wonderful compounding pharmacies that will require shipping time like Roadrunner ( https://www.roadrunnerpharmacy.com/ ), but you may have a compounding pharmacy near your that may be able to help you. Hello, my cat is acting strange for the last couple of weeks. Nothing really changed, but he got very lethargic and depressed. First he got some itch - started licking and nibbling himself. The doctor suspected flees and prescribed revolution drops.
Hi there and thank you for using Boop by Petco to address your concern. I would agree with the veterinarian that the blood work does not look concerning at this time. If his appetite has decreased with antibiotics, I would recommend discontinuing the antibiotics and seeing how his appetite improves. If he continues to be inappetant or is lethargic, I would have the veterinarian recheck him to ensure everything is ok. If he continues to be itchy, I would recommend using a topical shampoo such as Douxo PS shampoo which can be found online quite easily and bathe twice weekly until resolved. I would also recommend using Essential 6 spot on by Dermoscent, which can also be found online. If he continues to be itchy, it may be time to consider switching to a different food or even consider seeing a veterinary dermatologist. I hope this helps! Giardia can only be treated with either Metronidazole or Fenbendazole at the appropriate dose for your cats weight. I would consult your vet for the appropriate dosage for your cat since they have examined him before. Veterinary client patient relationship act says that a pet has to be examined by said vet who prescribed that pet medicaiton. I hope this helps. Best wishes and take care.
