The Cowfish, or Longhorned Boxfish, is a marine species that should be kept only by experienced aquarists. When stressed, they can release toxins into the water which may harm tank mates. Pacman frogs, leopard geckos, corn snakes or bearded dragons are all easy to keep.

At the very least, a 10 gallon tank with a filter, heater, hood and light. Ideally, the tank should be up and running (without fish) until it cycles properly. This means there needs to be sufficient time for beneficial bacteria to colonize the tank and filter to be able to break down wastes, namely ammonia and nitrites and to a lesser degree, nitrates. This can take several weeks to occur. You can cycle a tank with fish in it, but it will require daily testing of water chemistry to prevent a toxic build up of ammonia and/or nitrites. Either can kill your fish if not treated. Leave the lights on so he can acclimate and see they is no danger. Don't force him to go into the room or near the lights. If and when he does, praise and reward him. Consider a pheromone product such as the Adaptil collar or DAP plug in diffuser to decrease any anxiety.

Hi and thanks for posting on Boop by Petco! If you are interested in creating a first aide kit, I would recommend including the following items: 1. Gauze pads and rolls 2. Medical Tape 3. Antiseptic spray 4. Hydrogen Peroxide 5. An ice pack 6. Medical gloves (either latex or non latex) 7. Lubricant (petroleum jelly is ok) 8. Thermoeter 9. Scissors 10. Tweezers 11. Cotton Balls and Q-tips. 12. Sterile Saline Solution For any of the above, any brand will be okay. First aid kits are meant to be a temporary solution until Jackie can see her veterinarian. I hope this helps!
