Thanks for using Boop by Petco! There is nothing wrong with using a litter box with a lid. Some cats do not like boxes with lids so that would be the only problem but if you start at a young age (like you are) there may not be any problems with using it. Kisses to Nala!

I am sorry that your cat is having this issue. I would recommend keeping the lid off the litter box at all times. Some cats like litter boxes that are covered while other cats like them when they are not covered. I would also recommend adding in another litter box since it is ideal to have however many cats you have plus one in your house. I also recommend cleaning the litter box at least once a day. Making sure there is a litter box on each floor so that way your cat doesn't have to go to another level of the house to go to the bathroom. After this is he is still urinating outside the box I would recommend taking him to a veterinarian to make sure he does not have a urinary tract infection. Thank you for using Boop by Petco.

Hi and thanks for posting. A lot of cats do not take to the covered litter boxes as well as open non covered boxes. I would take the cover off of it if possible and see if she uses the littler box with the top off. I'd try that first. I hope this helps and thanks for using Boop by Petco!

Thanks for using Boop by Petco! I'm sorry to hear your new cat has been having litterbox issues. To start, I would recommend offering at least one other box of a different kind (covered vs not, for example). I would also add cat attract litter to the boxes, and consider putting a pheromone collar on her. If these suggestions are insufficient to help with her issue, I would recommend having her evaluated by a veterinarian to assure that there is no underlying medical issue contributing to her urination problems and then moving on with a plan from there. Good luck!

This could be tough if the cats have never used covered boxes before. If you have any of the used litter from the old boxes, put this in the boxes so it has their scent. Make sure to use the same type and brand of cat litter. It may help to leave the boxes uncovered for a few days o allow the cats to get in the habit of using the new boxes, then put the cover on. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.
