Can you use sand from the beach to add to your freshwater aquarium, if its sanitize?
You can, however it isn't as simple as collecting a few bucketsful and dumping them in your tank. You will need to properly clean the sand to remove impurities and parasites. This involves soaking the sand, water changes, more soaking amd more water changes. It may take several weeks. There are videos you can watch on the bigger video hosting sites. It is much easier, and safer for your fish, to buy sand that has been prepared already.

Can Betta fish tank have sand from river?
Thanks for using Boop by Petco! Ideally, no. It is better to use coarse small rocks instead of sand and in general it would be better to get them from the store where they come already clean and free of other organisms which may affect the environment of the tank. Good luck!

In the aquarium, the female requires a dry land area, with a patch of slightly moist sand, 25 cm (10 inches) in depth, in which she will lay her eggs. Create distinct water and land areas. The land area should occupy one-third of the tank and should be filled with a mixture of peat and sand.

what is the best way to control the ph in a discus tank?
Thanks for reaching out. There are many products available in pet stores for either adjusting pH up or down. Adding a buffer as a substrate (dolomite) could help regulate also. Maintaining water quality is obviously very important. Good luck.

Hello! Things didn’t go so well with cichlids and I only have one remaining which I moved to a different tank. The 45 is now empty and the others besides one blue African cichlid has died. I did water tests and most came out fine except the Carbonate
Water conditioning can be complicated and I recommend to stop by your local aquarium store. They are most often familiar with the local water quality and can give recommendations specific to your location. Some areas need buffering solutions to help control things like the water pH.
