In light of recent fda warnings, do you recommend oral flea/tick prevention? And, if a dog used nexgard, simparica in the past with no issues but is switching to Credelio would it follow that I should expect similar results (or no issues?) .... I kno
As you have already suggested, there are no absolutes. All the drugs the FDA mentioned in their recent warning are in the same class, including Credelio. Thus, I would venture to guess that it is unlikely Timmy with have a negative reaction to one but not the other. He does not appear to have a sensitivity to this class of drugs. There are always the off chance of allergies, but these are few and far between. Hope this makes sense.

Hi there. If you're asking about Tri-Heart Plus and Credelio, yes - it's fine to use these two medications together. I am not aware of any pet medication called "Credulity," so if you meant something else, please post again with the exact name of the medication.

Hello, thank you for using Boop by Petco. I know this problem can be frustrating. Yes, you can buy Capstar (flea pill) over the counter. It works great but only kills on the fleas that are on the dogs and continues to work for only 24 hours. After that you will need to get them on a good flea prevention and use it EVERY month without fail. You can use Capstar every day for a few days until you get a prescription medication. There is a dog and a cat version of Capstar. ( https://www.chewy.com/capstar-flea-oral-treatment-dogs-over/dp/52938 ) All pets in the house must be treated for fleas EVERY MONTH, even cats, even if they don't go outside. Frontline is not a good choice any more. Seems many flea populations have gained resistance to it. If you want to get a good prescription flea medication and not have to pay an office visit I suggest you go to a VETCO vaccine clinic in your area. I live in Florida what do you recommend for flea treatment? I tried the Ceresto collars it worked at first then nothing.
I recommend oral flea & tick preventatives. There are several brands, and all are effective: Nexgard, Simparica, and Credelio are monthly, or Bravecto which is given every 12 weeks. My top two are Nexgard and Bravecto. These are prescription products available from your veterinarian. Hope this helps!

You can find this product at any of the online veterinary pharmacies. In order to find the best value I would recommend going on goodrx.com. On this website you will be able to type in the medication and dose and it will provide you with coupon codes and the location of where you need to obtain the product. Regardless of what site you use you will still need to obtain a prescription from your veterinarian. I always caution my clients when they are planning to purchase these types of products from pharmacies of unknown origin as we cannot be certain how the drugs are being stored and what source they are obtaining the drugs from. Do your due diligence before deciding on which place to use. I have had relatively good experiences with Valley Vet Supply.
