No worries. Go to your local pet store and purchase a product called kwik stop. This will stop the bleeding. If they are not open then you can try turmeric powder or corn starch. Best of luck with your pet moving forward. Take care!

You can use epsom salt and soak the paws in a solution of water and epsom salt (2 tbsp to 1 gallon roughly) and soak for 15 minutes twice daily. A better balm to use on cracked pads and skin is a product called Bio Balm by Dermoscent. You can get this online easily and it works quite effectively. If the skin around his nails becomes swollen or begins to discharge pus, I would recommend having a veterinarian examine the area for further treatment.

Hi there. Most cats aren't thrilled about taking medication or having their nails trimmed, so this is a common problem! I highly recommend the how-to videos on these topics by Fundamentally Feline, which you can find here: https://www.fundamentallyfeline.com/how-to-videos/ They have videos that show different options for medicating cats without a struggle, as well as advice for nail trimming.

Anything you apply will likely be licked off and ingested. This could further complicate his condition. If a vet visit is not possible now, you can try soaking the paw in a diluted Betadine or chlorhexidine (Hibiclens) solution twice daily. Dry it thoroughly afterwards. An e-collar (cone) is your best bet at preventing licking which could delay healing. If this doesn't work, Thor will need to be seen by your veterinarian. He may need antibiotics to resolve any infection and pain medication to manage discomfort. Do not medicate him at home without the advice of your veterinarian.

Hello and thank you for reaching out to Boop by Petco. I'm sorry to hear that you accidentally cut Zena's nail too short today. As long as she is healthy with no underlying clotting diseases, her nail should stop bleeding on its own within 10-15 minutes with pressure applied. You can use a paper towel or rag and hold it firmly against her nail for 5-10 minutes to apply pressure and staunch the bleeding. I do not recommend trying to bandage the foot - bandages can cause more harm than good sometimes. You can try to reduce her activity today by restricting her to one area of the house (preferably without carpet!) so that she cannot run around. I hope this is helpful - best of luck with Zena!
