Unfortunately, I do recommend a veterinary visit. The reason for this is the medication has a steroid in it and can actually make the eye worse if there is a scratch on his cornea. Your veterinarian will look at his eye and may stain it to determine if a different medication is needed. Thank you for using Boop by Petco.

Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Prednisone is an anti-inflammatory at low doses. If your vet suspects allergies as the cause the pred will help. Also the pred may help with rubbing or scratching of the eyes. Allergies are hard to “cure” if the underlyin cause isn’t found. Good luck!

Hello and thank you for contacting Boop by Petco. It looks like a corneal ulcer, I suspect Rex was scratched by the kitten. Please, do not use steroids as they are contraindicated in corneal wounds. Antibiotics eye drops is a much better idea. Please, call one of your local vets that is open and get the advise on what antibiotics eye drops are available in your country.

Hello, Temaril P is a combination of an antihistamine & prednisone, a steroid. You might talk to your vet about keeping Louie on a small dose, perhaps every other day or so. There are also some eye medications that contain steroids, so the steroid effect stays localized in the eye vs an oral steroid that goes systemic. You may have to try each to see what works best for him, while keeping the overall steroid exposure as low as possible. Thank you for using Boop by Petco.

If this is allergies, there is more than steroids that can be used for treatment. I would try topical therapies as well. You will need to find a shampoo that is calming and start him on fish oil supplements. The products I recommend are below, but I am unsure if you are able to purchase these in India. You may need to run these by your veterinarian to see if there is anything comparable. There are other products such as Apoquel and Cytopoint that the veterinarian may be able to give to Kannan, you would have to ask about these. I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any further questions / concerns and I would be more than happy to help you further. 1. Douxo PS Calm shampoo 2. Essential 6 spot on by dermoscent 3. Krillex krill chews
