Which age give the calcium for puppy
Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Bone is SUPER cute!! I do not recommend calcium supplementation. Once Bone is 5-6 weeks old start feeding him a commercial puppy food, like Purina puppy chow. If you are bottle feeding him with a puppy formula you can start mixing that with puppy food now. All commercial puppy foods are nutritionally balance. Over supplementing calcium can cause harm. What kind of chew bone can dogs eat that is safe for digesting example:Deer horns, Cow Horns, Pig Ears, or Rawhide.
My personal preference is compressed rawhide (not regular rawhide). Pig ears and Nylabones are OK too. Any of these types of treats you give them should only be given supervised. I do not recommend giving bones to pets as there can be a variety of problems that can arise from this, including broken teeth, choking, or intestinal obstruction. This is information from their website. Dosage: For puppies: small dogs & cats - one measuring spoonful, For Medium sized dogs: 2 measuring spoonfuls, For large dogs, pregnant/nursing females: 3 measuring spoonfuls. Sprinkle on food.
