EasOtic is often prescribed for extra-label (https://www.google.com/amp/s/mobile.petcoach.co/amp/article/veterinarians-allowed-to-prescribe-extra-label-drugs) use in cats. It is commonly used to treat both bacterial and yeast ear infections. If you have concerns, I would give your vet a call just to confirm the dosage, but I have commonly prescribed this medication for my cat patients. I hope that Ruffy is feeling better soon!

If she will allow, use an ear cleaner, such as Epi-Otic, to clean the ear(s). Place an e-collar (cone) on her to prevent pawing or rubbing until she sees the doctor. Other medications, even OTC ones, cannot be legally recommended without a physical exam. They may also be the incorrect medication to treat whatever the underlying cause may be.

Hello, thank you for using Boop by Petco. The ear, honestly, to me does not look that bad from the photo. Of course I cannot see down into the ear canal or the ear drum without examining her in person with an otoscope so there may be something down there causing the issue. There is no way for me to tell from a photo. If she is really scratching at the ear or starts to scratch it when you touch the ear then chances are she has ear mites. People often mistake an ear mite issue with a bacterial/fungal infection but the treatments are very different. Ear mites are very common in kittens. ( https://vcahospitals.com/know-your-pet/ear-mites-otodectes-in-cats-and-dogs ) The best treatment for ear mites is Revolution topical solution that you would put on like a flea/tick drops on the back of the neck. DO NOT put it in the ear. Typically two doses 3-4 weeks apart is enough to kill all the mites and correct the issues. I would try that before attempting to put medication inside the ear canal

Thank you for contacting Boop by Petco with your question about Hazel. Unfortunately it's illegal for us to prescribe medication without seeing her in person. You cannot get a prescription online. If she does have an ear infection, she will have to see a vet to get it treated. It's very important to take her into a vet as leaving this untreated can lead to hearing loss. Best of luck.

Hi there and thank you for using Boop by Petco to address your concern. Based on your description, I am unsure as to where the infection is located. If it is in the ears and they are becoming infected, I would recommend having a veterinarian take a look at the ears so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. If the ears just have a moderate amount of wax in them, you can use an over the counter veterinary product called Zymox otic cleanser. If after using this product for 7 days there is no improvement, I would recommend bringing Pearl to a veterinarian for further treatment. I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns and I would be more than happy to help you further.
