Unfortunately, by law it is illegal for the experts at Boop by Petco to give a prescription for any drug without seeing the animal in person first. That's because doing so requires a veterinary client patient relationship which cannot be achieved via an internet forum. In addition, the experts cannot say for certain if a specific drug is safe for your dog. You will need to take Cosmo into your vet to get a prescription for fluconazole.

Hello and thank you for your post! I have used Fluconazole multiple times for yeast infections and 200mg twice daily is within the dosing range. I would discuss this with your prescribing veterinarian first before switching as different drugs are used in different circumstances. In my experience, Fluconazole has less side effects than Ketoconazole and I prefer Fluconazole. I do not know what concentration your amoxicillin syrup is, but if it is just a yeast infection, an antibiotic like amoxicillin is not going to help. Levofenil is a human product and has not been tested for use in animals, so I would avoid using this solution for treating Milo. I would recommend bathing Milo twice weekly with Duoxo Chlorhexidine PS combination shampoo until resolved. This shampoo will treat bacterial and fungal skin infections and it does so quite well. I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns! I am also available via consultation if needed.

Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! What is your Vet trying to treat Mau for? If you are referring to Fluconazole 200mg tablets then yes that is way too much for a 2.9 pound cat. The dose is 5-10mg/kg or for adult cats 50-100mg. I would contact your Vet!

You really shohldn't give fluconazole unless prescribed by a vet. It can have some liver side effects so your vet may want to run labwork first to make sure his liver is functioning properly. Please have him checked by a vet before giving this medication.

Unfortunately, it is illegal for the experts at Boop by Petco to give the dose information for any drug without seeing the animal in person first. I would follow your vet's dosage instructions for Bruno, and if you have any concerns, give the vet a call to discuss them.
