Hello and thank you for reaching out to Boop by Petco. Flies are attracted to foul-smelling things, such as feces or other organic material, ie fluid or tissue from a wild animal. If Dottie has flies that bother her, she may just need a good bath using a dog-safe shampoo to remove any material or smells that are attracting flies. If you are concerned about FLEAS, a bath may help, but ultimately Dottie will need either a topical or oral medications to prevent and kill fleas. These should be purchased from your veterinarian (as many over-the-counter flea medications are not effective and may actually be harmful to your dog). I hope this is helpful!

I can give you a flea treatment program for Daisy, and you can get them from 1800 Pet Meds without a prescription. First, I would give her Capstar. It's a one time pill that starts killing fleas within 30 minutes. Then follow up with a spot on treatment, like Advantage ll. This is a treatment that has to be used once a month. You will also have to disinfect the environment. Wash her bedding in hot soapy water, and vacuum the furniture and carpet surfaces. You can use a spray to kill fleas in the house, such as Indorex, or a flea bomb would work well to kill the fleas in the home. Best of luck, I hope this helps!

The main control point for flea allergy is to prevent any and all flea bites as well as treating any areas of damaged and potentially infected skin created from severe scratching. A product with rapid onset of action or flea repellant is recommended - bravecto tablets, frontline and advantix are all useful, in some cases combinations may also be required. Treatment of the house and bedding areas initially with a household insecticidal spray is also required as only 5-10% of the flea burden is actually present as adult fleas on yur pet at any one time and it is important to treat all aspects of the problem. Regimental use of flea protection products and strict complciance with any application recommendations such as timng in relation to shampooing/swimming etc is required also going forward

Unfortunately fleas do not live on the dog, but only hop on to feed and then they hop off and stay in his environment (your apartment!) until it is time to feed again. So you need to treat all pets in the household as well as the environment (which contains the fleas, their eggs and larvae). Flea treatment: 1) Get some flea medication such as a Flea spray or a spot on from a pet shop or your veterinarian and apply monthly (which you have done already) 2) get flea powder, put some in your vacuum cleaner bag and vacuum your house and furniture and also non-carpeted areas frequently to remove flea larvae and eggs which live off house dust., Dispose of the bag in the trash outside. Hot-wash all the pet's bedding, If you do this diligently for a few months you will get rid of the fleas. Flea products: Spot-ons: Advantage, Advantix Advantage Multi Frontline (ticks as well) Bravecto spot on (ticks as well) - for cats, in tablet form for dogs Nexgard Revolution Tablets: comfortis (will only k

Hello. You have asked a very good & very important question. Many times people think they do not need to treat an indoor pet for pests & parasites, but things can come into the house, like fleas on the dog before they have a chance to die from any treatments you use on the dog, to mosquitoes to even a tick coming in on you clothes. There are many very good products for cats. My personal favorites are [Bravecto]( https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/bravecto-plus-topical-solution-for-cats-63-138-lbs-single-2-month-dose) topical for cats & [Revolution Plus](https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/revolution-plus-topical-solution-111-22lbs-cat). Both of these require a prescription from your veterinarian. If you want to use an over the counter product, then [Frontline Gold](https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/frontline-gold-flea-and-tick-treatment-for-cats) or the [Seresto Collar](https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/seresto-flea-and-tic
