Kittens need food formulated for kittens and they should eat it until they are about 10 months of age. After that you can switch the adult formula. I like Purina Proplan food like this one: ( https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/purina-pro-plan-focus-chicken-and-rice-formula-dry-kitten-food )

Hi. The gender of the kitten probably doesn't matter but many think male cats are sometimes friendlier. Be sure the kitten has been tested negative for Felv and FIV before coming home as you don't want to expose your older kitty. I would also make sure she has been treated for internal and external parasites for the same reasons. When you bring the kitten home I would recommend giving the kitten its own room for a bit to allow the other pets time to get used to it through a door. Make sure that it's not someplace your older cat loves to be though! Adult cats can take a while to get used to a new kitten. So be prepared to weeks to months of her not getting along. If it happens more quickly, GREAT! Also- to prevent future litter box issues. A good rule of thumb is one litter box for each cat plus 1. So if there is room in your house for 3 litter boxes that is ideal. Here are some articles that may help on introductions. Good luck. Hope this helps! http://www.veterinaryp

Based on the picture, I would suspect that Kittu is a male since it appears that he has a penis and what I suspect are 2 testicles above that (closer to his tail). Male cats normally keep their penis inside the prepuce, so it is not normally visible. I hope that was helpful. Thanks for using Boop by Petco.

She's cute. She looks to be around 4-5 months of age, but you should weigh her. Her weight in months +1 is usually how we guess kittens ages. You should look at this photo to determine if this kitten is male or female. At this age it should be noticeable testicles and a penis protruding right below it if kitty is a male. https://www.vetmed.wsu.edu/outreach/Pet-Health-Topics/categories/procedures/cats/determining-gender-(sex)-of-a-kitten Best wishes with your new kitty! Take care.

Hello and welcome to Boop by Petco. Although animals do like company, they also can be very happy as single pets. If Scout seems happy, don't feel pressured to get a second cat. Scout should go to a vet as soon as you can make an appointment as he is likely behind on vaccines/worming if he hasn't had any since you got him. Neuter is recommended at 6 months of age. Otherwise just make sure you have scratching posts, litter tray, food and water. Best of luck with Scout!
