Because fleas are so problematic, flea prevention is essential! Commonly prescribed preventives include oral and topical medications—although injectable flea prevention is available, as well.

Lice are not terribly common in cats. I don't really feel like Frontline or fipronil products work very well anymore. I prefer products like Revolution or Bravecto. Seresto collars also offer great protection.

SIGNS OF TOXICITY All flea control products are potentially toxic or may produce unexpected side effects. Toxicity may result from accidental overdose or unexpected sensitivity. Known side effects, although rare, are vomiting, diarrhea, drooling, sluggishness, weakness, or abnormal behavior. If you suspect that your animal is reacting adversely to a flea control product, stop using the product and consult your veterinarian immediately. If the reaction occurs immediately after application, the product should be rinsed off thoroughly and the animal brought to the veterinarian for evaluation. Adverse reactions may occur from minutes to days following application. Insecticides can be toxic to people; all products should be handled carefully, avoiding direct contact as much as possible. Thanks for using Boop by Petco! In my opinion, the best two flea and tick preventative medications are Bravecto and Frontline plus. Any of those would be good options for him. Good luck and have a good night!

I would be you likely did see a flea. They are dark colored and move quickly. Flea products are not repellants so the fleas must get on the pet in order to die. I would recommend to check Franklin daily for fleas. Look around the top of his tail and between his hind legs (most common places that fleas hang out). If you see live fleas frequently (more than once a week), I would recommend to switch your flea product. Some fleas are resistant to older products like Frontline. Newer products tend to work best. I like Cheristin for cats. Hope this helps!

I'm sorry to hear that you're having this problem! Fleas can be very frustrating to get rid of in some cases. I will tell you that in my experience, Frontline Plus is not effective at all anymore for fleas - I regularly see pets who are using this product and still covered in fleas. Advantage II is the most effective over-the-counter topical flea product for cats. Stronghold or Advocate, which are prescription flea meds you can get from your vet, would be even better. Once you get the cats on a good quality flea control medication, it should be much easier to eliminate them from the environment.
