The best training treats are ones that your dog really loves and that can be broken into very small treats. This is especially important with a small dog like Bella. I have used and really like Wellness Soft Puppy Bites and Fruitables. This article also mentions a couple of other small and soft chews that would work well for Bella. https://www.rover.com/blog/favorite-healthy-dog-training-treats/ Good luck! I hope that was helpful. Thanks for using Boop by Petco.

Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Any treat that excited your particular dog is the one you want to use. Just use SMALL pieces of treats, so break up the milk bones to even smaller chunks. You can use cooked chicken or low sodium turkey hot dogs as well. Everything should be in moderation as to not cause your puppy to gain too much weight during training. Good luck!

Thanks for using Boop by Petco! These types of behavior can improve though this does require in person training with the help of a qualified dog trainer. I would encourage you to contact a dog trainer that can work with you and her in person to really take care of this behavior. The sooner these behaviors are dealt with, the more likely it is that you can improve and resolve them. Good luck and have a good night!

I would strongly recommend against any sort of punishment as they are notoriously ineffective for training long term goals. Hitting him with the newspaper or locking him away in a room is only going to confuse him and make him sad. Positive reinforcement training (rewarding behaviors / actions that are preferable) has time and time again been show to be the most effective method of training puppies and the majority of adult dogs. Golden Retrievers are very smart and usually eager to please their masters. You just must understand that Austin is very, very young and is behaving in a way that is totally normal for a dog of this age and breed. I would encourage you to begin crate training Austin if you haven't already. Once he views the crate as a positive place (sort of like his own personal den), you can ask him to go to it and stay in it without it actually appearing like a punishment / time out. Crate training videos can be seen all over the internet on YouTube. That would be m

Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! It takes 2-4 weeks for Prozac to reach therapeutic blood levels. If at 4 weeks you are noticing minimal affects I would consult your Vet and ask to increase the dose if possible, or change drugs if you are at the maximum dose. You can also add in short acting drugs like Trazadone to use with the Prozac to calm him more during training or specific events where he needs to be calmer. The most important thing for you to do first with Bongo is master the basic commands. I also recommend the gentle leader harness that goes on the muzzle. If you can't get him to learn basic commands and are plateauing with training I recommend a veterinary behaviorist or a trainer specific to your issues. I wish you the best!
