I recommend you check out cat treats by Orijen. They have a wide variety of treats that contain meats other than chicken and seafood such as lamb, boar, and venison :-) https://www.orijen.ca/foods/cat-food/freeze-dried-cat-treats/?lang=us

Ha Ha! Temptations are cat crack!!! I'm always saying this! It is probably partly both. Did your vet give you a special bland diet to feed Shadow? If not, I would try one. I'd pick Purina EN or Royal Canin GI. Either dry or canned - whichever he prefers. https://worldtails.securevetsource.com/itemView/view/198944_HomeDelivery.pml?productId=113553 https://worldtails.securevetsource.com/itemView/view/198944_HomeDelivery.pml?productId=113551 https://worldtails.securevetsource.com/itemView/view/198944_HomeDelivery.pml?productId=114751 Don't force feed him. Typically that just causes a food aversion. I suggest that if he doesn't start eating on his own that you ask your vet about putting in a feeding tube. It sounds drastic but it really isn't. It is an easy way for you to "force feed" him without forcing him..... They can keep the tube in for months.

Thanks for using Boop by Petco! You can use canned tuna and chicken which are both great. Also, cooked fish, lean turkey and lean red meats which they tend to like a lot too. Good luck and have a great day!

Cuddles is adorable! Thanks for posting pictures. I certainly understand the struggle with getting weight off cats. You didn't mention what you are currently feeding Cuddles, but the best weight loss plan I have found is changing from a dry food to a canned food. Cats are obligate carnivores and cannot utilize carbohydrates efficiently. Therefore the carbohydrates that are necessary to make a dry food dry are converted directly to fat and are not able to be metabolized efficiently for energy. Although diet food is lower in fat and calories, it is usually higher in carbohydrates, so it is very difficult to get cats to lose weight with. I am attaching a link to a website which has some great info on transitioning a cat from a dry food to a canned food (which can sometimes be a challenge). Finally, one thing that I have used to keep my cats busy (and not crying for food when they are hungry) is to feed a small amount of treats in a feeder such as this. https://docandphoebe.com/ Good

Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Personally I think the change in chewing is likely unrelated to eating the grass and it being stuck. Since Sandy is a senior cat the most common reason for a change in chewing or preference from dry to wet food is oral or teeth pain, underlying metabolic diseases (kidney or liver disease, intestinal disease) or nausea which is why she may have been eating the grass in the first place. I would have her seen this week by your Vet for an exam/check teeth and weight and senior blood work. Hopefully it is just her teeth and if her blood work is normal then schedule a dental procedure. I wish you and Sandy the best!
