You can put a t-shirt on Yankee over the bandages. Secure them with tape, and then cover him with a t-shirt. That should help keep the bandages in place. There are also surgical shirts you can get that will help keep the tumors covered and the bandages in place: http://medicalpetshirts.com

I've found cleaning this with antibacterial soap, rinsing well, drying the area and then applying an antibacterial ointment on it will protect it from infection. I prefer to use a restraint collar so Diesel can't lick it, rather than using a bandage. Leaving the area open to the air promotes faster healing. These can be difficult to heal so preventing the licking is very important. Some veterinarians give antibiotics and anti inflammatory medication as well as treating the area with a cold laser which speeds the healing. Keeping Diesel busy with exercise and playtime will help also as this is often made worse by boredom and stress. Be patient these can take weeks to months to fully resolve. Thanks for using Boop by Petco to help you care for Diesel.

Try getting her one of the inflatable donut type collars to prevent her from getting to it. They are available at most large pet supply stores. I would contact your veterinarian today instead of waiting until Monday.

Thank you for using Boop by Petco! The bandage may cause an issue for Dylan if it causes an obstruction, or it may simply pass through in his feces. I recommend keeping a close eye on him for signs such as lethargy, loss of appetite, or vomiting/diarrhea. I hope this helps and am happy to answer any other questions you have!

Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! I am so sorry that Nanna is so sick! It sounds like he has a severe skin infection or abscess that is causing septicemia. The skin is dying from the infection. It may take time for the skin to all fully declare itself. Once that happens hopefully the skin can be closed primarily or with a skin flap. But if it can't be maybe amputation of the limb is possible. I would not let Nanna lick the leg and I do not recommend bandaging it unless that is what your Vet recommends. Bandaging such a severe wound would require daily bandage changes and special bandage material that wouldn't allow the skin to stick to it. I would recommend using an Elizabethan collar (cone) or donut to prevent licking. I wish you both the best of luck! http://pet-supplies.drsfostersmith.com/search?w=elizabethan%20dog%20collar
