Yes this can heal and keeping her quiet will prevent further injury. I do recommend a neoprene carpal wrap to use daily when exercising Luna. I get them from handicappedpets.com or therapaw.com. I do not leave it on all the time as I want some normal weight bearing to maintain the ligament strength and to promote healing. Thanks for using Boop by Petco to help you care for Luna.

Partial tears of the tendon may benefit from a supportive brace. Complete tears or ruptures require surgical repair. Braces are typically expensive since they are custom made for each patient. That said, you may be able to find more information here: https://www.mypetsbrace.com/home

So, this is not a simple answer because braces for ACL tears are not as easy to work with in dogs as they are in people. For a knee brace to work in a dog, it needs to be custom made which requires a vet to make a cast from Shamus' leg and mail that to the company to make the brace. They braces cost about $800, but that does not include casting or fitting fees. The brace I have used most commonly is an OrthoPets stifle orthotic. https://orthopets.com/products/dog-knee-brace/ Hero is also an excellent company. https://www.goherogo.com/braces/knee-brace I have not personally casted for this product, but have done rehabilitation on dogs with a My Dog's Brace, and the owners have been pleased with them. https://mypetsbrace.com/canine-knee-braces-rear-leg Good luck! I hope that was helpful. Thanks for using Boop by Petco.

Dawson looks like a sweetheart! No, unfortunately there is no kind of brace that is going to help his spinal issues or cruciate ligaments. If his cruciate ligaments are actually torn/damaged, the only cure is surgery to repair them, and he may not be a good surgical candidate for this at his age and size. I would make sure he is on pain medication if he seems painful at all, like Tramadol, Gabapentin, or other medications that can be safely combined with the prednisone. Also consider joint protectants like Cosequin and other modalities like acupuncture and laser therapy. I have seen acupuncture help alleviate pain and increase mobility in dogs like Dawson pretty frequently. Hope that helps!
