Is a fan enough to cool my dog in hot weather? Can dogs eat ice cream?

Thanks for using Boop by Petco! Temperature has no effect on bladder stones. A fan is fine to use to keep pets cool. Also make sure they have access to shade if they are outside. Please do not feed Cointhee any ice cream or other dairy products. Pets do not have the enzymes to break dairy down and it can cause diarrhea. As long as he has access to cool water to drink, that will be enough. Kisses to Cointhee!

My dog won't drink water, eats ice, and has soft poop post-surgery?

Thanks for using Boop by Petco. To be honest, if a dog is eating and happy, he is almost certainly getting enough fluids. As for the soft stool, it doesn’t look abnormal enough for me to be terribly concerned. Call and let your surgeon know but in general, if Lou is eating and happy, a little soft stool is no big deal. Is it safe to give puppies ice cubes to chew on as a cooling treat?

Yes, ice can be a perfect treat for your puppy. It can keep her entertained, cool her off, and act as a treat without adding any extra calories to her diet. Just be sure to monitor her while she is chewing on the cubes to make sure she doesn't choke. If she does swallow one too quickly or begin to choke don't panic, remember it's only ice and will most likely melt before causing an issue! I'm glad you are finding Boop by Petco so helpful! I'm getting my first dog! What supplies and preparations do I need?

Ensure the puppy has been fully health checked, microchipped and vaccinated and contact the vet involved to confirm they know the puppy - I see you have her down as 6weeks old and spayed/neutered - this is very early and you should question the breeder as to if and why this has been done. You should arrange a puppy safe area of the house (indoor crate or partitioned off area) with no low hanging wires or cords they can chew or become tangled in, have plenty of spare, war, soft bedding and at least 2 food/water bowls, puppy training pads (if using) and an appropriate sized leach and collar to start training around the house. Have some appropriate sized chews and rope toys (avoid human items such as old shoes etc as this can encourage unwanted chewing of important pairs!). Ensure a dog sitter/walker or daycare is available if you will be away for longer than 4-6hours and arrange a vet check within the first 3days to ensure all is well! Good luck

What summer products protect my dog's paws, coat, and repel bugs?

For days where it is very hot, you do want to avoid taking your dog for a walk at the hottest parts of the day (mid-day) especially on paved areas as your dog's feet can get burned. They do sell dog booties that you can put on your dog's feet to help protect them.
