Thanks for using Boop by Petco! Yes, she most likely will be fine. Just keep an eye on her and let your veterinarian know if you notice anything abnormal in her such as loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, decreased activity, unsteadiness, and or lethargy. She is likely to be fine. Good luck and have a good night!

Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Yes, Simparica and Interceptor can be given together at the same time. BUT if this is the first time giving one or both of the drugs then I would give one at a time 2 days apart in case one causes a problem. Then if there are no issues give them together next month. Have a great day!

This should start working very quickly, but you need to give him another dose in a month to make sure they are all gone. Tapeworms are passed in segments, and they are dead, but you should clean everything in your home to get rid of them.

Side effects are generally very rare in heartworm preventative medications, but are certainly possible. I have attached a handout below that discusses the different heartworm preventative products. https://www.veterinarypartner.com/Content.plx?P=A&S=0&C=0&A=488 As you can see, there are a huge number of products on the market. Some herding breed dogs (such as Blue Heelers and Australian Cattle dogs) will be sensitive to ivermectin (the active ingredient in Heartgard), so I would discuss your other heartworm preventative options with your veterinarian. I have been very pleased with Interceptor or Sentinel for herding breed dogs. Good luck! I hope that was helpful. Thanks for using Boop by Petco.
