The dandruff is from dry skin after the bath. You can try to add a leave-in conditioner next time (like epi-soothe) to see if this may help him. Bathing too frequently can cause dry skin as well. Make sure to keep up on monthly flea treatments for all pets in household to prevent flea re-infestation for George.

Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns and I would be more than happy to help you further. 1. Douxo PS calm shampoo and bathe twice weekly 2. Krillex shed free chews 3. Essential 6 spot on by dermoscent These products can be found online quite easily.

I would give him fish oil in the diet to improve the coat. I recommend an aloe and oatmeal moisturizing shampoo, and make sure you are using a flea control product as having fleas causing excessive itching will irritate the skin. Also as he’s a puppy please make sure he’s been treated for internal parasites which can cause a poor hair coat. To control the itching you can use Benadryl. There is a recommended dosing schedule elsewhere on this website. Thanks for using Boop by Petco to help you care for Arjun.

Cocker Spaniels do suffer their share of skin conditions and one of the most suffered are seborrhea and dermatitis, which can cause a strange odor and result skin that is itchy, oily, flaky skin You should have your veterinarian examine your dog to find the cause of his skin condition so the correct treatment can be initiated. Apart from consulting with your vet, there is something you can do to help. Try a medicated dog shampoo using one that contains anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, and anti-microbial ingredients. Don’t expect the condition to go away overnight. Follow the instructions and advice of your veterinarian as he can diagnose the cause and treat specifically for whatever condition your dog suffers from.
