I haven't used Beaphar products before, but just looking at their ingredients, I would probably recommend using their treats for the actual drive because it has 3 different ingredients that may help with stress. If you think that needs to be combined with a longer lasting product, it looks like the collar has both Valerian and lavender, while the spot on only has Valerian. But if your cat is not used to wearing a collar, then she may not tolerate the collar well. I would contact the company to discuss the specifics of your move and ask them for a recommendation. As far as other products to consider to help stranger cats get along, I have a couple suggestions (although the Beaphar products may be very helpful). The goal is to decrease stress between the cats. One option for decreasing stress is to add a Feliway Diffuser ( https://www.feliway.com ) to your house. This is a calming pheromone that will work for a month. My cat Peppermint has been treated with flea and tick killer and it looks like he has flea dirt and fleas under his chin? He is an indoor only cat. Any explanations? He also gets very upset in his carrier would using the feliway pheromones help this?
It sounds like he has chin acne and not fleas under the chin. You can treat this with Benzoyl peroxide gel once per day until healed. Here is a link to an article on this problem in cats. It may help but it may not. It is best to just train him to accept the carrier by leaving it out all the time, using the pheromone spray and feeding him treats in there (like canned cat food). If it is out all the time he won't be alarmed when you take it out for travel. If he is very bad traveling to the vet you can always try to find a mobile vet to come to your house instead. I'll be moving soon, with my 13 y/o male cat. He has been indoor/outdoor for most of his adult life, with access to a cat door. I'm concerned because he will need to transition to being an indoor cat in our new home--litter box training, the works. (
Start now with closing the cat door at night and keeping Kitter in with a litter box available. After a few days or a week keep him inside only. That way he will adjust before the stress of moving. Most cats naturally use the litter box but you may want to confine him to a smaller area with the box at night when he's in. Use plain litter without fragrance and clean it daily and fully empty it and scrub it with mild dish washing soap weekly. Cats are fussy and if the box is dirty they can start going out of the box. Also pick up bath mats and laundry so he doesn't start urinating on those. He should be fine, most cats adjust well. Make sure you play with him a lot and he may enjoy a cat tree since he is probably used to more exercise when he's outside. Thanks for using Boop by Petco to help you care for Kitter.
