Thanks for reaching out about Cosmo and including photos. Kaytee is a good brand, proven nutrition. But the predominant part of a guinea pigs food should be a quality timothy hay. High fiber hay required lots of chewing, thereby providing fiber to wear down the teeth. An average guinea pig should probably have 1/4 cup of pellets daily. That can be divided to twice daily. Good luck.

Pigs are natural rooters and puzzle solvers, so anything that involves nosing around with or digging in will be fun. Giant rubber balls (like the kind you see horses playing with) treats hanging from a chain, places to dig and more can all help encourage some playfulness and enrich the environment. Pregnant pigs should be up to date on any needed vaccines in your area prior to breeding, and should be fed a diet appropriate for enough nutrition for growing piglets and nursing them after birth. A growing or lactation diet is best for mom to prevent nutrient deficiencies during these high-energy periods. Signs of problems that warrant a call to the vet are lethargy, loss of appetite, failure to gain weight, or struggling to stand/move around. It sounds like the larger pig is getting more of the food you put in the enclosure and as a result one is growing too quickly and one may not be growing enough. Probably the easiest thing to do would be to separate the pigs when you are feeding them pellets or treats. You can leave the hay in the enclosure while they are together. Also make sure you are only feeding fresh veggies with very occasional treats. I hope this helps. Thanks for using Boop by Petco. Best of luck.

Pigs should be fed a specific diet, such as in this case the Mazuri mini pig diet. I would recommend following the guidelines on the bag for your pig's particular size and weight. In addition, supplemental food can be in small quantities. I would encourage you to refer to the following page for information as it is a great source of info for new pig owners. http://americanminipigassociation.com/mini-pig-education/mini-pig-nutrition/ Hope this helps.

Piggerton is precious, but sounds like he may be a little naughty! Fortunately, pigs can be trained pretty similarly to dogs. Essentially saying "no" when you catch Piggerton doing something he shouldn't be, and diverting his attention with one of his toys. You can try a Bitter Apple spray on things you do not want him to chew. I hope this helps and wish you luck with your piggy!
