There are many things to consider for keeping an outdoor dog comfortable. Any type of shelter will do as long as it provides enough room (for the dog to stand up and turn around), protects the dog from the weather (good roof and sound walls) and the door is situated such that the prevailing winds do not blow right in. Straw bedding is helpful during the cold weather to help the dog maintain some heat in the house. Fleas are better controlled with medications such as Frontline, Seresto collar, NexGard, and many others. If your dog is a short-haired dog, pay close attention during the cold months to make sure he is able to keep warm. There are also coats for dogs that can help! Thank you for using pet coach.

A roof that does not leak and walls to protect against ran is needed. You will have to change the cedar chips out regularly and make sure to add a bed or blanket to snuggle in for extra warmth. Ideally on freezing nights you should bring him in and confine him to a garage or laundry room or bathroom if able

I think an underground fence or an electric fence that has a home base (see link below) might be the best solution. Petsafe is a good company who makes these products. It shouldn’t scare her further away but it should keep her inside the boundaries. I would keep the level on low to keep her from becoming scared to go in the yard. This is the safest thing to prevent her from getting out and either getting lost or injured. There is also a GPS tracking device for the collar called whistle that you can use to keep up with her if she still gets out. I hope this helps. https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/petsafe-wireless-instant-fence-pet-containment-system?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&adpos=1o3&scid=scplp692131&sc_intid=692131&cm_mmc=PLA-GG-_-PTC_P_SUP_PLA-GG_FY17_SCShopping-Mobile-_-Non+VIP-_-92700026257943398&kwid=p26257943398&device=m&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIjtH4nPzz1wIVh4WzCh05bAl_EAQYAyABEgJ1sfD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

No problem! Yeah just fill that Kong up! Presumably puppies can have “off” days just like we can. Also they are very smart. To be honest, she now knows that you’ll let her out of her run if she gives the signal that she has to potty. She’s going to use that to try and get out of her run to play because I’m guessing you let her out every time she does that. If she is actually going potty every time, of course let her out but if she isn’t, don’t buy her act. If she normally goes potty every 3-4 hours and just went potty 20 minutes ago, she might be a liar. Consider ignoring her for an hour. The run is perfectly fine as long as you keep stuff that can’t be chewed out of there!

Hi there and thank you for using Boop by Petco to address your concern. I would definitely provide a heat source for them in the winter, especially if it is going to hit freezing temperatures. I worry about hypothermia if there is no heat source. I would also provide an insulated area for them. Small dog houses can be built quite easily and still be low cost. There are many templates online of how to build a dog house with insulation. Dog beds, blankets and another dog to keep warm with would help as well. If the temperature are too low outside, it is not advisable to keep them outdoors as this could result in hypothermia and even lead to death. I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns and I would be happy to help you further!
