HI, thanks for using Boop by Petco. Max could be a Spitz or a Samoyed. Or a mix. Max may need time adjusting to a new home. Try adding warm water to his food or adding a tablespoon of canned food mixed with water to see if that will get him to eat. Try sitting with him while he eats. Good luck!

Congratulations on adding Max to your family! Max will need to have his vaccines before he can be groomed so he will need to see the veterinarian. The best products for ticks are oral products like Simparica and Nexgard. You will need approval from your veterinarian to get these products. Seresto collars and Frontline will also kill ticks. Depending on where you live, if tick borne diseases are common, it may also be recommended to start Max on an antibiotic to try to prevent tick borne diseases. Heartworm testing and likely prevention will also be recommended. Certainly you may be able to look into vaccine clinics or low cost clinics which may be able to offer most or all of these services (you will need to check if they can address the tick borne illness issue). You may also look into the wellness programs offered by VCA and Banfield if they are in your area. Sometimes this is an affordable way to get the normal preventive care items for pets. Look for a dog who is similar age and size as well as temperament to Max. If Max is very playful, then you will want another dog who is also very playful. If Max is not very playful and more laid-back, he will not appreciate a dog who is jumping all over him constantly. Other things that can help would be to make sure that both dogs are spayed and neutered. The sex hormones make pets more prone to aggression, being territorial and fighting for dominance. Also try to set up a meet and greet on neutral territory if possible. lastly, before they meet for the first time, make sure Max is well exercised before hand. This will help to drain some of the energy and can make the meeting more smooth. I hope this is helpful and please feel free to post any additional questions.

Thank you for using Boop by Petco! It sounds like Max has not eaten in close to 24 hours. This can be caused by nausea, which can be related to a large number of other conditions such as pancreatitis, foreign bodies, or eating something he should not have. I recommend keeping a close eye on Max, and having him seen by a vet as soon as possible if he begins vomiting or having diarrhea, or is lethargic.

I just got a new German Shepherd Lab mix puppy and he is covered in fleas. I've given him two very long baths using dawn soap and warm water and there are still a lot of fleas. Help me please.
Unfortunately bathing Maximillian will not help getting rid of the fleas, you will need to buy a good quality flea treatment. As you bathed him, you will need to wait 3 days in order to use any topical spot on treatment, otherwise it will not work, but you can instead use an oral tablet. here is the list of the best flea products on the market.
