Hello, & thank you for using Boop by Petco. Ketamine is a sedative, used primarily in horses & small animals for anesthesia. I know the rules about controlled drugs are pretty lax in SA, so all you can do is ask. If you develop any type of relationship with a veterinarian in your area, they are more apt to help someone out than a complete stranger. Laws about controlled drugs are changing rapidly in the region.

I think the most reliable source to answer this question would be Merial who manufactures this medication. Call 1-888-MERIAL1, option 2, option 4. This will prioritize and transfer your message to the appropriate party.

Hello. I am not sure what your researching but 500mg of Metformin is a normal dose for a human so I don't think it would be a good idea to give to a mouse. It would cause severe hypoglycemia and severe lactic acidosis. If your intention is for the mouse to live then I don't think it is a good idea. Maybe using a lower dose would be appropriate?

Unfortunately, we are not permitted to give out drug dosages without a veterinarian - client - pet relationship. If you are seeking this information, I would obtain it through a veterinarian in person or through a veterinary formulary such as Plumb's or Merck. Hope this makes sense.
