It could take Lyla a few weeks to get use to her new surroundings. I would make sure she is in a low stress location in the house. Also, allow her to have some space she can get away and relax. I recommend finding a special treat only you or your boyfriend gives her. that way she starts to look forward to you being around.

Training a new puppy can be hard work and I am going through this myself. Start by just leaving the collar on the puppy at first until she gets used to that. Next, attach a leash to the puppy, in the house and let her drag it around the house. Keep an eye on her at all times so she doesn't get snagged at all. Reward her with lots of praise and treats but do not hold the leash yet. Once she drags it around and runs around with it, start picking it up. Follow her around the house, tossing treats so she will get them. Do not pull her and do not try to make her go your way. Next, take this to the backyard and let her drag a leash there. Then start letting her walk around the back yard while you trail behind her holding the leash. LOTS of treats and praise for any forward motion. be patient! Try some squeeze cheese on a big plastic or wooden spoon to get her to move froward if needed. You can also get her used to a harness. For a puppy, or any dog, I recommend an easy on harnes

I don't think the smell alone would cause harm, but it is always best to make sure your children wash their hands and that your ferret's enclosure is kept clean to prevent the spread of any germs. Keeping Piper in a different room that your baby is also a good idea for general safety unless both are supervised.

I'm glad you want to train Felix. Working on tricks can be fun and prevent boredom. You can train him with treats and lots of praise and repetition. I'd start with calling Felix by his name and rewarding when he looks at you. Then call him and give a hand signal and ask him to come. Again reward him if he moves closer to you, eventually getting him to come each time. As for other tricks find something he likes to do like like spinning a wheel and give it a name and reward him when he does it. Then you should be able to ask for the spin and he'll do it on command. All this takes lots of time and patience but ferrets can learn just like other animals. Thanks for using Boop by Petco to help you care for Felix.

Hello, and thank you for using Boop by Petco. Poor Joey! It would be helpful to know more about what sort of trauma Joey experienced and what you’re observing with him now. Joey could have a minor concussion or headache that could resolve simply with rest and time. However, more severe head trauma can cause bleeding or swelling in the brain, which can be life threatening and must be promptly treated by a veterinarian to minimize damage. For this reason I strongly urge you to bring Joey in to the vet immediately, particularly if he is acting painful, confused, squinting or shutting his eyes, stumbling, or showing any other alarming symptoms. I hope this helps and I hope he’s alright!
