Hi, I am preparing to adopt an adult Alaskan klee kai. She is between 18 and 20 pounds. I currently live in Phoenix, AZ, but may be moving in the near future. I am trying to determine which flea/tick and heartworm preventatives may be best for her. I
Congratulations on your new dog! I like Revolution if you are looking for a topical product. It consistently works well and is well tolerated. If you like the idea of an oral product better, I like Trifexis (it’s another all in one product). Sometimes though the pets can smell the Trifexis and they won’t eat it. In that instance, I like Simparica and Interceptor. My personal preference is oral products. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.

I took my dog in for a rash he had from allergies, the vet from Boop by Petco prescribed pills and they worked amazing. he stopped itching and the redness went away, I just want to get his prescription refilled. do i have to take him in again or can
Thanks for using Boop by Petco! They will likely be able to refill it for you as long as they agree with that treatment plan to continue. My dog Dexter is a rescue and although I don’t know much about his medical history, I’ve noticed he might have some trouble with his skin. A vet on this site (thank you Dr. Elizabeth from the U.S.) recommended I start giving him omega 3 fatty acids.

I use Advantage Multi for heartworm prevention for my 3-year-old pointer mix. What tick preventive can I use. She is allergic to the Seresto collar.
Great question! There are so many products it can be hard to navigate. If you are already using advantage multi for fleas and heart worm prevention there are several options you could add in for tick control. Hi and thanks for posting on Boop by Petco! OraVet is great, but there are other options out there as well that may be more available. I would recommend oral health products that are approved by the Veterinary Oral Health Council. I have linked a list of approved products below.
