Hello, thank you for using Boop by Petco. Steroids generally used are Prednisolone or Depo-Medrol. If Steroids can not control the lesions, we often go to Atopica ( cyclosporine ). For the antibiotic, I would start either with the amoxicillin/clauvalonic acid or one of the cephalosporins ( Covenia if available to you). You might also investigate using a hypoallergenic diet for cats, such as one with a novel protein or one made with a hydrolyzed protein. Science Diet & Royal Canin are very popular ones here. My cat was bit by another cat on his tail and it got infected. He won't take his oral antibiotic. Can I put an antibiotic on his wound/skin called Baneocin?
Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! I'd call your Vet tomorrow and ask if they have the injectable antibiotic called convenia. I think that will solve you having to medicate Cinco. But yes the ointment baneocin should be ok, just prevent him from licking it. It may not be enough, especially if your Vet felt he needed to be on oral antibiotics. Good luck!

If she responded initially to d/d then this confirmed a significant food sensitivity. A hydrolyzed diet such as royal canin hypoallergenic or anallergenic would be recommended, antiinflammatory medications should also be prescribed to provide short term relief

my cat has been having a problem with his eyes and has been prescribed both neopoly dex ophthalmic ointment and ofloxacin ophthalmic solution can you mix them or is one better than th eother?
Hi and thanks for using Boop by Petco! Sorry to hear about your kitty. I'm assuming the vet who prescribed these did a corneal eye stain to make sure the surface of the eyes were not damaged. You can place the drops in the eyes as directed and then wait about 15 minutes and follow with the ointment. Great question.

Thanks for using Boop by Petco! Unfortunately, there are no oral medications (prescription or non) that will help him. The eye probably needs topical medications so you will have to catch him to even try. I would recommend offering him canned cat food so he can eat without much discomfort. If he eats the canned food, maybe you can use it to lure him into the trap. Good luck!
