You can find this product at any of the online veterinary pharmacies. In order to find the best value I would recommend going on goodrx.com. On this website you will be able to type in the medication and dose and it will provide you with coupon codes and the location of where you need to obtain the product. Regardless of what site you use you will still need to obtain a prescription from your veterinarian. I always caution my clients when they are planning to purchase these types of products from pharmacies of unknown origin as we cannot be certain how the drugs are being stored and what source they are obtaining the drugs from. Do your due diligence before deciding on which place to use. I have had relatively good experiences with Valley Vet Supply.

You can get Nexgard at any one of our VETCO clinics in your area: ( https://www.vetcoclinics.com/services-and-clinics/clinic-locations-and-schedules/?zip=34639 ) I suggest you use Knockout Spray ES to treat the house and a yard spray to treat the yard. ( https://www.allivet.com/p-1389-knockout-es-area-treatment.aspx?SearchTerm=knockout+Auto ) ( https://www.allivet.com/p-9065-vet-kem-yard-spray-32-oz.aspx?SearchTerm=yard%20spray+Auto ) You can use this hot spot medication on the lesion that he still has on his body. You will need to get him a cone collar to stop him from chewing that spot until you can get the fleas and his discomfort under control. The lesion will not heal unless he stops chewing at it. ( https://www.allivet.com/p-2846-vetericyn-plus-hot-spot-spray.aspx?SearchTerm=hot%20spot+Auto ) ( https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/contech-procone-soft-recovery-collar ) If he doesn't improve then you will need to get him back to the vet for an exam.

Nexgard is an excellent choice for fleas and ticks, and is one of the products I recommend most frequently. I generally prefer Sentinel for heartworm prevention rather than Heartgard, as it covers a wider range of intestinal parasites and also seems to be more effective at preventing heartworm infection, especially in areas with lots of heartworm disease such as the southern/southeastern US.

Since he is still growing, I recommend starting with 3 doses, or even single doses until he is either done growing or over 10 pounds. Check his weight prior to each dose to assure that he is still in the appropriate dose range.

Even though fleas and ticks need to bite a pet in order for Nexgard to work, it kills the parasites quickly enough to prevent them from causing either flea infestations or from transmitting different tick-borne diseases. However, no product is 100% effective. I think you're being very proactive in looking for repellant options to protect Milo on your upcoming camping trip! Topical products like K9 Advantix II (available over the counter) or Vectra 3D (prescription-based), or Seresto collars (available over the counter) are all labeled to repel new ticks and Advantix II also repels mosquitoes. To my knowledge, no products actually repel fleas. Don't worry - they all kill fleas quickly, so an infestation isn't a concern. I often recommend using any one of these products in conjunction with Nexgard if a high-risk situation is needed. However, since I don't know Milo's medical history, I strongly recommend first calling his vet to confirm that it's safe for him to use one of these products
