Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Poor Keke! Unfortunately eye medications are prescription. All medications that go in to the eye need to be formulated to be safe for the eye. You can't put an ointment made for the skin into the eye. Also cats are very sensitive to all medications and can react to some components in eye ointments as well. With out examining Keke I can't tell you which is a safe medication and which is not. When it comes to eyes the pet should be seen. It is the safest decision and the best for her. You can try calling your Vet and see of they are comfortable prescribing the same medication again. I wish Keke a speedy recovery!

We have an outdoor cat whose eye has been tearing consistently for the past few days. My husband cleaned it with warm wet compress, but it is still teary. I just noticed that there may be some puss. Is there away to get medicine for her?
If there is pus, then there is probably an infection/conjunctivitis. You can try Terramycin eye ointment. It is the only one that does not require a prescription. We are not allowed to write prescriptions over the internet for animals we have never examined - it's against the law. Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! I only recommend erythromycin or terramycin be used in a cats eye. I recommend, if Riley is having an issue with her eyes, that you see a Veterinarian before putting anything in them. You don't want to do more harm than good. Cats are very sensitive and can react to many eye medications and can react to them all! I hope this helps and I wish you the best!

My cat just finished 7 days of antibiotics for an upper respiratory infection and now his right eye is boogery. He squints it and eye boogers come out but the eye is not inflamed or infected looking. I’m really not sure what to do?
Thanks for using Boop by Petco! This may be due to the upper respiratory infection or an ulcer for example. Regardless, he is likely going to need eye medications. I recommend you have him evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Best of luck!

Hello, Yes, this drug can be prescribed to be given orally to cats for the treatment of herpes. I'd recommend making an appointment with your veterinarian to discuss the best treatment plan for her. Special pharmacies can make oral medications in cat-friendly flavors, like tuna, and this can help make the medication experience much easier. Sometimes this disease is still going to require eye drops as well though. I'd recommend trying to train her and make the eye drop experience better with positive reinforcement, treats, toys, etc to maintain this condition best over time. I hope this helps.
