I rescued (was abandoned to die) a turtle (or tortoise) about a month ago. I would like to have her (or him) checked and to get some guidance to learn how to take care of properly. Does Pecto has Vets that are reptiles specialists?

Rocks can cause tiny scrapes on the shell which can introduce infection. Use a thermometer in the basking spot to make sure temps don't get too high. A thermometer on the other end would be recommended to make sure temps aren't too low. Offer a commercial pelleted diet along with fresh greens and vegetables.

Hi, What specific type of the Oxbow Critical Care formula would you suggest for a box turtle that is not eating? I see they have different types. Does that have to be given orally or could this be mixed with water in a container where you can soak
You can use the Omnivore formula. Another similar product is Emeraid Intensive Care Omnivore. These dietary are typically fed via tube feeding if the will not eat willingly. If you've never tube feeding, have your veterinarian show you how to do this. Soaking her in either will do nothing. The amount fed and frequency will depend on her weight. You should also offer live prey (waxworms, mealworms, etc) as well as a variety of dark, leafy greens and fresh fruits and vegetables.

The swollen eyes may be due to a vitamin A deficiency. You can pick up Repti Turtle Eye Drops by Zoo Med ( https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/zoo-med-repti-turtle-eye-drops ) at the local Petco. Follow label directions. Next, maintain pristine water quality via filtration and regular partial water changes. Confirm proper environmental parameters, especially temperature. Low temps can affect activity and appetite in reptiles. The symptoms described could be a respiratory infection. Unfortunately, you will need to see a veterinarian for confirmation and treatment. You can take Jeffrey to the local clinic. The veterinarian may be able to consult with a specialist to devise a treatment plan. The antibiotics used are the same that are used in dogs and cats. It looks like a juvenile slider. Ideally, a wild turtle should be returned to the area where found. They don't transition well to captivity Since it is a juvenile , you may have a better chance though. You can read about slider care here: http://www.anapsid.org/reslider.html You can feed a commercial pellet or stick diet supplemented with fresh greens and some protein in the form of crickets, feeder fish or nightcrawlers. The water should be no deeper than twice the length of the shell and should be heated and filtered. Provide a heat lamp and UVB lighting.
