If the box is not covered I would recommend doing so but otherwise try a wood pellet based litter which can be quite similar in texture; you may need to try a few brands until you find one that is acceptable to Storm!

This could be tough if the cats have never used covered boxes before. If you have any of the used litter from the old boxes, put this in the boxes so it has their scent. Make sure to use the same type and brand of cat litter. It may help to leave the boxes uncovered for a few days o allow the cats to get in the habit of using the new boxes, then put the cover on. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.

Hello, sorry to hear about Om. There are a couple of things that can contribute to this. Primarily have 1 litter box per cat and then an additional one is a must. Having the litter boxes in a private area also helps. Finally, trying different types of litter is another thing to consider. Here are some tips on litter box use what may cause inappropriate eliminations. Hope this helps and best of luck. Feline inappropriate elimination is a common behavioral problem. Many owners may become frustrated trying to cope with this problem. Help is available. Because inappropriate elimination is associated with an increased risk of relinquishment to shelters, treatment should be sought early on. Contact your veterinarian or local animal behaviorists for additional help. What is inappropriate elimination? Inappropriate elimination is the deposition of urine or feces outside the litterbox. Cats displaying inappropriate elimination may either be eliminating in the wrong area, or exhibiting marking

Hi and thanks for posting. A lot of cats do not take to the covered litter boxes as well as open non covered boxes. I would take the cover off of it if possible and see if she uses the littler box with the top off. I'd try that first. I hope this helps and thanks for using Boop by Petco!

Best thing to do is to get a long, shallow plastic storage container (obviously just the box and not the lid) like the ones you get to store things under the bed. Seems to work the best. Cats like it because it is long. ( https://www.walmart.com/ip/Homz-60-Quart-Twin-King-Under-Bed-Clear-Latching-Storage-set-of-2/40977741 ) Other option is to take a regular large storage container and cut a hole in it on the side so he can go in/out. You can make it any size you want. Here is an example: ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0JaVrsy-RgY ) Remember, the more shallow it is for him to get in effectively, the higher chance litter will be scattered everywhere..... Hope this helps. Best wishes.
